OMG. Everytime I see "etgilles and jolofsson" in an iComp song update, I get so excited I practically fall out of my chair!! And once again, you two geniuses have managed to create a track that I #1) MUST DOWNLOAD IMMEDIATELY, #2) MUST place on my Favorites playlist! I adore, worship and love your collabs. Seriously. Congrats! smiley

Hi J! Love this demo, but then I love most everything you do. This is excellent, though, and re: The drums - I feel they are big and bold and NOT overpowering at all. They lend to the strength of the song and balance sweetly with the softer, lovely lyrics. But that's just my observation. smiley

Lappy, I swear you're gonna make my head explode. Once a month (and more if I can squeeze it into my schedule) I take time to head over here and comment on as much music as I can. But every night - at 9:02 p.m. exactly - I get an email alerting me to New Music Posted By My iComp Favorite Artists, and most all of them are YOU. For the love of GOD, I don't know how you do it (or how I'm supposed to listen to them all, cuz I want to , I do!)...Anyway, with that said, I randomly chose this one to listen to and comment on: Of course, I love it. The BPM breakdown is BRILLIANT, the beat is BIG and BOSS, and of course the "Boys With Their Toys" thing is right out of the PSB Handbook (which is AWESOMENESS). Kudos! Excellent! smiley

As a child of the 80s and a student of the 90s, it gives me great pleasure to see the sounds merging, with a modern twist (usually vocally), to become what they are now calling everything from Pop to Electropop to EDM...Excellent job, as usual, 9. smiley

P ~ Getting around to my monthly "sampling" on iComp, and - of course - I always head to my most favoritest people first...I like this. It doesn't have your signature "organic feel" like so much of your work does, but it's definitely straight up Trance. Re: The 4 on Production, I've noticed your final tracks are down a little volume-wise. Have you tried playing with Compression & Limiters on your Output or Master track? I've found that gives my tracks the necessary 'Ooomph!" it needs volume wise. Anyway, you're a stud. Excellent job. smiley

I agree with RT & M, it's unexpected thus interesting. And to expand on what RT was saying, aside from key line changes, I would fracture the main key line and only hint to it from beginning til, say, a breakdown, then reveal the whole thing and add another layer or two with octave changes. Excellent start, CC... smiley

Thanks Randolf - what's truly interesting is that on my comp, there's no video appearing! It's as if there is absolutely nothing there, and if I go to "edit", it's as if it were an audio file - except there is no audio file actually there. <sigh> Apparently, you and 54 others have viewed it, and you found it interesting so something, SOMEWHERE is working right! smiley

with the exception of some very, very, very minor tonal issues, I absolutely love this reinterpretation. The original is one of my FAVORITE songs EVER and this version zooms right up next to it. The rap is exceptional in its meaning and I love how you almost mirror PSB's rap-speak style, yet bring a fresh & original feeling to it. I can't tell you how much I love this!!

I like the general direction you're headed - keep in mind, the loops here are commonly used ones, so filter/tweak/FX them until they're more your own. Less familiarity will help create a unique sound that's all you. Don't be afraid to throw everything but the kitchen sink at them...Nice beginning!

Wow, that is so awesome that you both got it! I fretted about its "spiky" sound, I worried about the vocals and whether the dynamics would blow like a breeze above everyone's heads...I'm grateful the first two commentators actually felt the wind in their face. And then, of course, there are the lyrics. Wasn't sure if I could get away with a theme like the seduction of a virgin. Interesting territory for me here...So, far everyone likes it, so thanks!
