| I like this a lot, some top quality performances especially on the drums, and the vocals, for someone who claims not to be a singer are great... I like the stops and the way the whole arrangement sits together as well... Would have loved to have heard a lead break in here somewhere and some vocal harmonies as well! My only concern with this was the mix. Everything is on top of everything else, and use of stereo panning here would really help. Try double tracking the guitars and panning them left and right, and playing around with different amp settings to give you a heavier sound. The panning will make more room for the drums and vocals to sit tighter in the centre and maybe some stereo widening on the synth. Overall the mix sounds very hot and distorts in places where everything is in! Drum mix is great except for the kick drum is not really cutting through, try boosting it in the low mids and more compression to tighten it up! This tune is really great and tidying up the mix would make a world of difference to it! |

| 1st Base with my 1st Bass by hiphopmoses | 1 year ago |
| Liking this Moses, the distorted bass reminds me a bit of MUSE! I like the layering of the different parts and how they interact with each other. To me the drums need to be heavier and harder hitting, but as you say it isn't finished so... I got my hands on a bass a while ago for recording purposes and have had lots of fun playing it whilst doing the bass player dance around my living room! You can't master the bass until you have mastered the dance! You could check this tune out... Three bass players on one song, so it works with your layering idea, and one of the basses is even distorted! http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=107222 |
