Soulman, Thanks again for listening! That sounds great about NOTION 3. I start school in January for my Bachelor's Degree in music. The NYS Commission for the Legally Blind is paying my way and will get me all the programs I need/want ... along with computers and such ... for FREE. Can't wait!

Carla,

Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate you listening and taking the time to listen. I, too, would LOVE have an orchestra play this.

Bellissimo by Alimar 2 years ago
Soul... and (as I went below G) I was liking that nasally sound!!! smiley I have reworked this with the only oboe sound I have in this particular program. It does offer a new dimension. Thanks again for taking the time out to critique and offer suggestions.

Soul-man... that's a brilliant idea about using an oboe. I have the track already set up, but resisted because I was thinking it would be too many lead instruments, even though their fingering is the same, yet an octave apart in range. As I wrote, I added the higher register in the Cor and didn't realize I was out of range! Thanks for your words... they mean a lot.

Bec,

Cinematic in nature with a touch of 'video game' feel to it. Spacing of the percussion amongst other elements is especially apparent. You've accoplished your 'fun with rhythm' quite well. I did hear three more emphatic beats in a modulationa at the end, though.

T2,

Your use of sonic elements has a pleasant texture throughout. Sneaking in, the beats define the mood. The ambient instruments deliver a conscious eloquence. The change-up adds another element, with the voices sparsely placed. Your use of the instruments in this 'kinetic-life' composition is outstanding. Reiteration of the four note progression holds the compositional fabric together. I was anticipating a big splash at the end, though.

Thank you for listening... and for your wonderful comments! This composition was created in GarageBand 4 using JamPack 4 Symphony Orchestra, AMG SynthPack (muted trumpet), and Boldt cello and violin. It was entirely constructed in the GB "Track Editor," one note at a time using the "Pencil Tool" (either by placing notes on the staves or directly on the grid). There are approximately 30 MIDI tracks, and the process took one and a half months from beginning to end.

24 hours? What a task. You have arrived at the turnstyle... continue on this path. Although you are now THERE, build your fortress (with lots of windows) and wallow in the responses by planting your garden. I am very proud of you.

Sincerely,

Nice stuff going on here... Yeah, there is a little distortion happening there. But all-in-all... a powerful tune!
