| Thankyou fellas, very much appreciated. On the solo, BTF, I felt that I was guilty recently of over doing the guitar histrionics on all of my songs, so I think I wanted this real throwaway bluesey solo to just fall back into the mix a bit. I've also learned, finally, if you want people to hear your stuff...upload on a SATURDAY! Hah. I've put stuff up here before that i've been real proud of....and they've sunk without a trace. I'm sure you know the feeling! |

![]() I'm finding the best way to check out other peoples stuff is to wait to see who checks out your own... ...and I'm glad your popped by or I wouldn't have heard this nice little gem of a track. So much to like about it - the key changes and chord progression from verse to bridge to chorus - the Chili Peppers style guitar riff - nice expressive solo. There's something about this that reminds me of Jellyfish (fantastic American band from the 90's) but I can't put my finger on it. Still. Cool. Enough said. |

![]() This and 'In my head again' are driven through with one of the stronger, more professional voices I've heard on this site, and an advanced knowledge of production - especially on subtleties like backing vocals and how to actually START and FINISH a song with something interesting. I feel like your after the same musical goals as me, but I can't match your voice.... Really tight stuff. But you know that. |

![]() I listened to this, I read what everyone else had said, then found myself singing over it. Real nice standard ballad melody, as good as anything put out by people a lot richer than you or I. Nicely played too. Good stuff Can't stop singing to it mind..... |

![]() Lovely bit of slap (bass) and tickle! I'd liked to have had a little longer... The winning factor for me though is the mix, real clarity. Pretty nifty sax too! (who's doing that?) big thumbs up. |

| Many thanks for the comments people. Yes, it's true, I'm never in any hurry to get to the vocals. Sometimes it's good to set up your themes I think, there's no hurry. Also, in truth, there's a bit of prog ethic in me. |

![]() Whooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh! Ha Ha! How much did I enjoy this! a really fun version of one of my favourite songs by the greatest band on the planet. I was waiting to see what you'd done with the instrumental middle section, and really liked it. We don't get to hear this stuff tried by other people very often. Well produced mix too. From the age of about 15 Alex Lifeson was my entire guitar obsession - even the guitar I played, HAD to be a strat copy with a decent tremelo, HAD to save up for a Chorus pedal, Delay pedal and Flanger (to get that Spirit of Radio "Swoosh" and spent many a teen evening from then on learning to play every song on Exit Stage Left note-for-note the best I could. That was in his "mid-eighties-mirror-scratch-plate-guitar-and "Ice cream seller"-white-jacket" days too! So my dress sense suffered too. Come to think of it, everything is Alex's fault! I know this wasn't supposed to be a RUSH forum, but you take your chances were you can. You hath done well sir. Download in progress! |

![]() Graphic Designer by day, frustrated musical genius by night? Me too! (ahem) You've put together a type melody sequence that I always like here. Very 'friendly' sounding, if that makes sense. Its also the first instrumental peice I've heard tonight in my short visit on this site where the tune 'concludes' itself, instrumentals always sound 'incomplete' to me if they dont. (just my opinion). ie. just fading out quickly or coming to a semi-abrupt halt like the musician's had a stroke. Not this one thankfully. If there's anything tiny I'd offer, I'd try it with some 'world music' percussion in place of the rocky snare in the middle there, african kind of thing. I hope thats'constructive'critique! Good stuff! beats the day job eh? |

![]() I'm liking this the more I hear it. The title reminded me of how I feel. The key to it's success is the creative choice of keyboard sounds and good production on the guitars. good stuff. |

| Many thanks for that. Yeah, it was most first stab at putting some horns together (there was some tenor sax in there if I remember), could be a bit beefier. Point taken about shifting it's genre too. |

| Many thanks for the feedback. To be honest, the first half of this track and the second half were recorded at least 5 months apart, because I didn't know how to finish it!! |
