Hello There!
I used to play the drums for 13+ years (acoustic kit) in addition, played out at bars/clubs (that had paint peeling from the walls) with a couple local bands, which eventually ended in 1990.
Back from 1985 - 1990, I had a small recording studio, the walls draped in carpet (I was going to use egg cartons, etc

). In addition, I had heaps of gear, which were mostly analog such as: two 4-track
cassette recorders (Tascam & Fostex X-15

)(could not afford the reel-to-reel ones). Every drum of mine had a mic attached to it! I also had a Casion keyboard with sampling functionality (ouch), a cheesy electric guitar (could not remember what clone it was!) and a Rickenbacker (a replica that Getty Lee used during the old Rush days), which I regret selling it! Did I mentioned I once had Yamaha REX50 Digital Multi Effector (picture->
http://www.synthmania.com/rex50.htm)? This baby did everything from distortion, flange, compression, delay, reverb and pan). The dam thing cost me $450.00 back then!
MUSIC/PRODUCTION TRAINING:
- Modern Recording Techniques Course (1988)
-Operations on Sony MXP 3036 digital-ready console, Sony JH-24 track and Scully series 280, 2 track recorders.
- Music Theory
- Music appreciation and Opera appreciation.
Thirteen years later, reality had set in and I am back creating music! This time I will execute my compositions using my MacBook Pro and other midi-triggers.
I wish all of you in cyber-land much success!
My Best,
~Doc

"Peter Erskine began playing the drums at the age of four, and has now been at the forefront of world-class jazz ensembles for thirty years. His first major professional work was with the Stan Kenton Orchestra, which he joined in 1972. After a three year stint with Kenton and a two year stay with Maynard Ferguson, he joined Weather Report in 1978. The excellence of the partnership between Erskine and bassist Jaco Pastorius was an integral part of that group's success."
Billy Cobham playing those skins intensively with speed & accuracy, he also has a very extensive Background!
