| Hi Folks, this is one of those songs Elaine was born to sing and it shows. A little back story about the music..... My new next door neighbour is a jazz muso by night and by day, a piano teacher at the local school. I invited him and his wife in for a welcome drink and chatted about music until the wee small hours. I told him I had never really been into jazz and I think that set the wheels in motion for this track He laid down the piano for this in one take and arranged the brass parts in like 10 mins. It's amazing what a bottle of Scotland's Finest can bring out! I played bass, guitar and drums on a old set on drum pads over a basic loop. I took me a week to mix as we had a total of 42 separate parts. Elaine nailed it. She always does. Enjoy, |

| I had this backing track ready for someone to sing on it for around two years. I was waiting for someone to come along with 'the voice' and boy, she sure did. Elaine is one of the best singers I have ever worked with and is a real natural. I'm so glad she agreed to sing the track and make it her own. (It might amaze you to know the a few weeks ago she had never heard the original song) I cant wait to do more tracks with her. Thanks for all the nice comments on the production. It took me around a week to do all the instrumentation and my mate Jim Davies played the live drums. Trevor Horn is one of the most innovative producers around and the original track was way ahead of it's time. I hope I did him justice! |
