 Hi Mark, generally, I like this song, especially the organ comes out well. There is something not quiet right with the bass, though. Its not in harmony with the melody. I guess since you are using bass loops its tough making them work with the harmony changes. If it wasn't for that I would be a bit higher on the Performance. I like everyhting else !!! |

| Thanks BlackLily, I have to disappoint you though, learning to play the classical guitar--too late and not enough time while having one's own business.Until I master it I would be probaly 110 years old. A capella or not, I dont care---this is great, G R E A T. Reminds me of some songs Dave Grusin was making (such as "Mountain Dance", Dave Grusin also wrote the music to "On Golden Pond" etc.) Excellent movie material. I am impressed. |

I listened to it more than once and I think one reason you had not received any comments is that folks maybe dont know how to rate it.So I try the way I see it: The Concept: I love the beginning,even so there is a note in there which does not belong there, but thats OK. Really pleasing to listen to. Then you have a bridge inserted which is nice, the lead-in to the finale.Which is sort of completely unexpected,comes out of nowhere (since you describe the piece as "calm,introspect,nostalgic"  . That almost let me forget how nice the beginning was. And then it concludes in a relatively fast fade-out. That could be a bit longer. My suggestion: This song has a lot of potential. Maybe starting a soft rythm in the second quarter which escalades and then leads to the finale, sort of leading in to the grand finale.Creativity: I really, really like it. Performance: A bit of a timing issue here and there but otherwise very nice,good harmonies, good execution. Production: I would have said 5 but there are some notes which are distorted when you recorded the song.Not easy, I know. In closing, I think the song has a whole lot of potential, maybe a bit rework here and there and you have a real winner on your hands ( I am never satisfied with any of the work I do, always think I can do it better and better and so on ...... Good luck!!! |

To art is to put pre-exisitng loops together "the right way" and you are a Master of it. Sure it is repetitive, but note the title: Electric Pogo. The music fits the title to the T. It bounces along like the pogo stick and therefore has its own "melody". You da man. |

Mark, this is great. That thing could make some serious $$$$$. I like the precise arrangement, the stereo panning is superb, clean and to the point. Saved into my music files allready. A song as good as this one should never be in the Auditorium for 5 month and have no rating. I am glad to put an end to this.... |

Another nice piece, again, under appreciated as usual. Love the midlle section. Its like this brief moment of peace and tranquility in an other wise hectic, but nevertheless excellent environment.I can tell you put a lot of thought in your songs..No ratings since February? Why has since March no one rated this piece? Its excellent in its simplissity. I swear, let some one like Falco put some lyrics with it( with an austrian accent,maybe) and this piece would be an instant hit.... Nice work in need of more recognition!!!!! |
