wow it has a real childish feel to it, but at the same time sinister - a bit like chuckie. real clean synth arpeggio, loving the sound. its really good i like it.

would it be ok to sample a length of this for an intro into a hiphop track and then another 4 bars for the main riff? i think itd sound nice, cos this does man - maybe a little quieter is all i could say, not sure if its distorting (probably isnt anyway)

nice nice.

good sounds those drums man, are thick as **** (good thing).

very well produced smiley

must say though your songs have a tendency of building up, then becoming just drums again, then building up, etc.
in my opinion would sound better if you start with drums or whatever, then build up but as you fade out or stop one bit, come in with another so the song is continuous otherwise it kind of kills the feel of the song smiley

your reverb is SO clean aswell :L

maybe its just a crap sample? you could use a different sample or layer it with a real kick; thats what id probably do.

or you could just compress it more for a better click then add a duplicate of the same drum without the extra compression onto it, and then eq up the bass on the uncompressed drum.

or even change the decay on the sample to keep the bass going.

nice atmospheric rhythm, works well - id call it 'Plastic Tribal' just for the sake of it :L

good one

well it doesnt seem very loiud ALOTHOUGH i am a bit tipsy so maybe my ears are alco-clogged, the beat seems solid smiley

those stabs at the start are from a song i know it, i just dont know what ahaha, i like this one.

ill probably make a second (s0ber) comment, and tell you what i think hha, but for now - im hearing LOTS of normal and sub basses, very atmospheric - glad to see your keeping the style of heavy reverb. well made smiley

Soaring of the Phoenix by KoacNation 2 years ago
very thick sound, but your songs quite often seem very percussion reliant - have you thought of trying some flowing high violins? cos i think if you faded them in, they could work
World Celebration of the Phoenix by KoacNation 2 years ago
4

haha this is good. good melodies, really work with the concept of the song smiley

this is very good, maybe some more abstract samples wouldnt have gone a miss - like some reverse strings, reverse hit with a normal hit at the end - some white noise or even vehicles going through.

anything abstract adds variety smiley

nice mallet sounds and tony is right about the juxtaposition of the song, like a journey through cultures.

i guess this would symbolize the phoenix's flight over different countries and discovering new cultures as he goes?

very good.

one of your strongest, like the heavy snare coming in half way through.
Soaring Phoenix (TRANCE Version) by KoacNation 2 years ago
what a gangsta! hahaha.

very nice, one thing i just noticed - have you tried using filters instead of volume automation, i think that would make a big difference - especially to trance.

great heavy kick with thick dark reverb smiley

if its any consolation, i think tiesto's **** hahaha
Flight of the Phoenix (Choral Trance version) by KoacNation 2 years ago
good idea here, no sharp endings and good fading - well done. love the digi bass sound, thats a quality sample right there smiley

i like this one.

however the second synth sample seems out of time, might wanna work on that smiley

overall good mix though, was a good idea
Mourning of the Phoenix by KoacNation 2 years ago
3

see what you tried to here but, sometimes its out of time and context; for example the higher piano note doesnt match in time or feel with the chords (which i have to say are very nice). the strings are ok but couldve done with some fading in smiley

also the choir at the is very bitcrushed (crackly, low quality). the second choir is alright but sounds like low quality. quality matters when it comes to samples smiley
Groove of (Darth Vader Version) by KoacNation 2 years ago
3

very nice touch to the song, same critique to the song as i left on the newer version.

but the clips are a better song smiley
Groove of the Phoenix by KoacNation 2 years ago
not bad not bad, i myself naturally felt asthough the gated synth near the start shouldve been cut off after one bar, and not left to run for 4 bars - it just felt unnatural having it run that long smiley

some things i feel lack a kind of delay, although thats a completely optional thing to add, i felt it wouldve been good on some things smiley

one thing ive noticed is your drums seem to sound very samey - with a very quiet but heavily reverbed kick and filtered snares. its good but the novelty gets lost after a few songs. smiley just my opinion.

overall not a bad tune but leaves some to be desired. not gonna say its your weakest though smiley
Quiet Night of the Phoenix by KoacNation 2 years ago
4

now this is by far the strongest ive listened to so far. very nice, and has that nice little 'abes oddysee' noise, dunno if youve played that haha

great choir, and chords alltogether.

everyone has a strong point, yours so far is this new age business; just as i cant write an ambient song for crap, i glide through orchestral and dance.

veryvery nice, even the whole production is well made.

also good use of pan on the atmospheric sounds.
Liberation Groove of the Phoenix by KoacNation 2 years ago
3

haha, you have a good knack for choosing the right rhythm for songs.

the 2 octave synth at the start seems maybe 1 or 2 steps off beat, ALTHOUGH this could be im used to going from the bottom octave and the offbeat being the higher octave; that sample might have been upper going to lower, thus throwing me off balance.

very ambient aura your songs have.

maybe soom extra compression on those cymbals if its possible, by extra i mean lighter but louder. they just seem squashed down - if theyre part of a loop, are you over mastering the loop?

as this moves on it gets very nice. its a good song.
A Poorly Made Ode to the Lords of Acid by KoacNation 2 years ago
very nice, maybe some effects on the vocals wouldnt have gone a miss. something like a delayed moan moving on to the next bit of the song.

however i loved the beat, the reverbed kick gives it a very heavy underground feel like a subway. love the filtered clap/snare, also good swing to the rhythm of it

like how theres a melody in there, right in the back. i like this

its not the same patch but its a type of stereo production i use. i personally like it but some dont, just a matter of taste.

i kind of blend both stereos into each other but keeping a base at both, so it sounds big and panned still; but maybe not panned enough ahha

thanks for the input smiley
Pachelbel's Canon (Canon in D Major) by soulima 2 years ago
very very nice, sometimes i feel asthough strings end a little too sharp and feel overworked sometimes, maybe some extra dynamics?

quite interesting to hear this speed, is it altogether a faster tempo or have u shortened the note lengths?

feel sorry for the violinists wrist hahaha, great song

Trance Piano Dance (of the Phoenix) by KoacNation 2 years ago
4

mmm nice experimentation but maybe not for the better in my opinion. the drums bring a little too much chaos in my opinion. also your right about the piano, i think less of an arpeggio and more straight chords with improvisation smiley

but the concept of this piece is very good.
The World by ZipZipper 2 years ago
liking this alot, good lyrics. wouldnt myself call this dance, maybe a few synths wouldve done it. i consider this more pop smiley

pretty smooth, i think after the first kind of 'growl' near the start is the perfect oppurtunity for a 2/4 snare, it just sounds like it should be there smiley - and your gonna hate me for this buttt smiley maybe a different sounding kick? OOH i said it again, sorry but thats my preference, all the extra percussions make up for it in this one smiley.

wouldve also liked to have heard a distinct melody in this, although im not up to date on the minimalistic scene, so i dont know if thats in the genre or not?

overall though, not gonna lie, nice work, good and mysterious with excellent production.

very nice, like the heavy hooverish synths. not a huge fan of the hi hats with empty second beats at the start, but who am i to judge smiley

what synth did you use for the stabs on the right pan?
The Undertaking by DX_OF_TX 2 years ago
4

good concept of what she asked you to do here; what scale was it again, the G Natural?

when it started first thing that popped into my head was some kind of vibration on the drums, like a stutter - maybe from over mastering, im not sure what actually makes it sound like that but it didnt come across as deliberate.

very industrial like sound to it, good for the animation you were asked to do smiley although i have to say it does get repeptitive, but i did keep in mind thats its an anime theme and it doesnt exactly go on for 5 minutes in practicality smiley

also at the end you can hear some heavy clipping when the drums are pulled out, i myself wouldve turned down the volume the exact moment the drums pull out to keep the clipping off smiley

overall pretty snazzy tune smiley
Pianos of the soul by DX_OF_TX 2 years ago

very nice, smiley

something quite dodgy about the first transition where it changes from the orchestration to some paddish sound; seemed very hollow at that part

but mainly i love it, great theme changes. how long did it take u to come up with the main progression? cos i love it.

also amazed at how u even know how to use reason; i get lost as hell when i use it. smiley

mm its alright, doesnt seem to do much thougn smiley i think you need to work ut where ur bassline is; where your melody is and where your harmonies are. then u can work of a linear playlist. from when i can tell from this u seem to be qorking your way round music, you should have to work your way around.

dont let me put you off, cos im a fan, just friendly advice smiley. good luck in the next song

(rating sculd be wrong cos im pissed tbh)
Change (Club Dub Mix) by Everine 2 years ago

i like this, nice and ****y... no funky, yeah!

have to the say, the start as the bass, drums, stereod percs and then the keys work their way into the mix seems for some reason amateur; although it honestly just sounds like a dodgy-cut loop smiley

looovely voice, you should make a sample CD smiley

LOL ahahahaha god damn - that made me laugh.

anyway - *slight* and i mean slight overuse of phasers and flanging, however it does seem to be becoming ur trademark.

nice windy effect on some of those swirls, also good transformation but i think during the course of the some there needs to be some fills, rises, pumps, etc. to make the changes not so abrupt smiley

i hear so many different songs in this; Star Trek, Bittersweet Symphony, some fleetwood mac, some Final Fantasy stuff... and even reminiscent of my old stuff which u havnt even heard haha.

i like it, its very nice. your compositions and production is and are getting alot better.

good work mate.

ahaha the start is legend - how many times do i hear that everyday! ahah

good production and hefty beat.

at times does seem a little too packed but it never overflows smiley

overall cool and love the use of glitching, totally my style.

have to say after a while it does get boring, and i was listening for ages until it changed into something more funky but i doubt youll edit it anymore now. so yeah its great

i never heard a single clip during this, so great.

mmm nice tune, good use of filters too - reminds me of some stuff ive done.

one thing, de-esser on the master track? that noise is noisy smiley

also the kick, could do with maybe a little less compression if you used it, if not maybe some bass boost OR onbeat bass to accompany the kick. just a suggestion

the full mix maybe couldve been maximized, its a tad quiet - though not really affecting the main mix smiley

good overall mix smiley

hmm cant make heads or tails of this ramona :S

some of it reminds of some 90's underground pop thing, and other parts seem quite amateurish showcasing (not in a bad way)

this tune doesnt seem to be a 'song' as such, more an acapella with a backing track smiley.

in my tactless unrelentless opinion i think youve lost the feel from the music and pushed your voice maybe a little TOO far upfront; wouldve been nice to have kept the balance because the music is actually pretty good.

good song, lyrics made sense after you explained in the chat what it was about.

love the chorus, the way u take it down with the bass.

one thing though, vocals seem a bit lost - very forgettable ( by the way theyre mixed, not lyrically or vocally)

maybe try some EQ or even higher compression?

mmm, honestly - seems a tad sloppy if you ask me, but yes you did sort your drums out smiley bout time smiley

my advice would be, maybe a little compression or volume control on the sounds at the start, or perhaps a fade in.

a little less pan on the drums, cos they get annoying (brilliant snareish sound, love it)

good work on your stereo seperation too, when i heard it i was like "stereo shaper?... most likely... yeeeeee"

not bad not bad. i wouldnt release this as a final copy as of yet though.

smiley good luck

great kick, just feel that the bass is so low that the keys are inarticulate. great melody though
MASHER by conorcorbett 2 years ago
liking that creamy synth - but like i said in the last upload, that kick... still very samey; are you by any chance using a synthesizer to generate a kick? or is it samples?
Untitled by Drastic 2 years ago
oh right, in that case - know the melody when it kind of progressive upwards, i do dislike it when it reaches the top then goes down a key, i think it would sound better (and happier if thats the feeling you were going for) and more reasonable if you just kept it sustaining instead of dropping down.

obviously a personal preferance but it did get me feeling "oooh... i like.. arrgh damn, was going perfect UNTIL", that kind of feeling

however! since u havnt been midi writing for very long thats a bloody good melody for a beginner

MINIMAL REACTION by conorcorbett 2 years ago
interesting sound smiley enjoyable for sure smiley

erm have you ever thought about maybe varying your kick - they all seem to sound the same in your songs - maybe layer it with some kind of other bassy percussion with low volume?

in my opinion couldve been maybe it little more powerful... but if you listen to my newest song youll see what kind of power im into - and that power would ruin the song here

i like it, cant wait to hear it finished smiley
