I always loved this haunting and highly romantic composition by Glass. Even used it in a film of mine once. Your playing has a flow and grace that augment this but also a bounce and slight change in rhythmic emphasis which makes it a unique and personal interpretation.

Prairie (the movie) by Bowman 1 month ago
Fascinating the way our minds work. I never consciously choose or was even aware of that yellow and blue color scheme just found images that appealed and worked with what I had in mind. Now that you mention it I see yellows and blues so clearly. Of course being a graphic designer you saw these patterns. Our gut works in mysterious ways.
Glad you enjoyed this Rebecca. As always thanks for the listen and comments.

There's a lot going on here for such a short work Jeannette.
It has a playful nature, very cool syncopation, a hint of magic, a short and lovely counter theme with your strings and it's all a very enjoyable listen.
Great to have you back here at I comps. Your good cheer, enthusiasm, and your wonderful music were greatly missed.

Of course I love Copland and whenever I find myself doing something American themed, his inspiration often comes through.
Pace is so subjective. When I was younger I liked things fast. But now I lean toward letting music breathe more and forcing it less.

Pachelbel's Canon (Canon in D Major) by soulima 3 months ago
I grew up with Paillards' recording. In fact it was my first intro to this piece. Heard it used in a sparse black and white film choreographed for 2 modern dancers. I was transfixed by its sombre beauty and never forgot the music or the performance. Over the years I've heard many versions. Most quicker and all at least for me lacking.
Ironically yours is the quickest I've ever heard and it actually works quite well. Maybe it needed such an extreme turnaround to give it new life. While, like a first love, I'll never forget Paillards' this is refreshing and a very happy version. Well done John.

Maxwell's Silver Hammer (string orchestra cover) by ciheins 7 months ago
It's interesting listening to Maxwell's Hammer without Ringo's charming vocals. It - at least for me - doesn't hold up well as pure music and as you mentioned the strings are sooo synthy.

My God Rebecca what a beautiful story. It literally gave me chills. What a great idea to write this from two perspectives. Each unique, each equally powerful. I'll cherish these always.
