| I grew up with Paillards' recording. In fact it was my first intro to this piece. Heard it used in a sparse black and white film choreographed for 2 modern dancers. I was transfixed by its sombre beauty and never forgot the music or the performance. Over the years I've heard many versions. Most quicker and all at least for me lacking. Ironically yours is the quickest I've ever heard and it actually works quite well. Maybe it needed such an extreme turnaround to give it new life. While, like a first love, I'll never forget Paillards' this is refreshing and a very happy version. Well done John. Charlie |
