You know, your comment about how the composer thinks is very true. I've been like obsessing over this piece after uploading onto icomp, thinking, maybe it's too much of the same thing, too conservative, too uncontrolled towards the end, could be better, maybe I'll see it differently again after a day, etc. I'm still thinking about pensive 1. How can I grow that little musical idea into something more mature, interesting, emotional, etc. Any tips on how to become a better composer? (Badly need to grow  ) |

I was re-inspired again recently when I saw fan-made music videos for Yann Tiersen's music. There's something haunting with his use of the piano. | Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments. I need a pedal cos I find the left hand piano playing kinda choppy. Am used to a real piano. Keyboard in some ways, has less control. Yet more when it comes to GB production! The music starts with F major. It modulates to D minor and back a couple of times. The basic chords are pretty simple: i-v-iv-i-vi-v-i, vi-v-iv-i-vi-v-i. (F-C-B flat-F-D-C-F, D-C-B flat-F-D-C-F). Erm, I'm pretty much an amateur. There are some pretty good masters in iComp! Some of which are my favourited songs. Fantastic creativity and production performance. But it's really cool cos you really can ask questions here! | |

| Hi etgilles, Thank you for your comments. I know my arrangement skills is erm, not really there. Haha... I think one reason is perhaps I don't really know how to fine-tune the tracks in GB well. Sigh. It's quite techie to me. And I find it quite hard to control the M-audio KB. Oh well, hope it gets better with practice. I'm glad you like the piano version much better!! |
