Biography
Hi!
My name is Tony and with my business partner, Dave, we are Chocolate Cow Music Productions.
I met Dave in the early ’70s and, very soon after our first jam, formed Rockinghorse along with cousin Rob and friend Haydn.
No, we didn’t ‘make it’, as they say, but we had some great times… and great drinking sessions! We always regarded ourselves as the original garage band (’cos we practised in Aunty Bern’s garage which backed onto the Paddington-Swansea InterCity railway line – if you listen closely to early recordings you may hear the 18:20 from Cardiff Central in the mix!).
Time and life moved on and Rockinghorse was eventually put to sleep – humanely of course – and, despite occasional musical collaborations with Dave over the next 30 years or so, pressure of work meant that I just didn’t have the time for more of a commitment – maybe I should have found some.
On the other hand, Dave has always been, and still, is prolific in his musical output. He plays with a number of local bands and has composed music for corporate DVD productions and TV and radio advertising campaigns. He is currently studying for a BA Combined Studies degree in Popular Music & Music Technology at the University of Glamorgan’s School of Creative & Cultural Industries at the ATRiuM in Cardiff.
Anyway, on 31st March 2008, after 37 years continuous employment, I was made redundant. After the initial ‘Shock! Horror! What am I going to do?’, I soon realised that (as Satch would have said) ‘You have all the time in the world’. So I phoned Dave…
Since then, we’ve been assembling a portfolio of original music, covering a variety of styles and genres – classical, pop, reggae, folk, rock, country, jazz… just about anything and everything!
Intentions? Objectives? Well, this isn’t a hobby any more – this is a full-time business, with full-time commitment. We believe we can create original, well-produced music to order, for just about any occasion. Ultimately, we want our music published… it's as simple as that, really. A bold statement I know – all we need now is a bit of luck and someone to say ‘Yeah, we can use these guys…’.
Take care and I hope you enjoy.
