Lovesong (Alone Mix) -The Cure Cover by Choirbox 3 months ago
Yeah, you're right Tri, the lead vocal has a double that is highly processed. I was experimenting, apparently I should have left it alone. I think I've been hanging out with Retrolust too long!

Hey thanks J. I've been out of icomp touch for a long time. Been working with a new band a lot. It's good to be back.

Gorgeously sensitive. This is hands down my favorite song I've heard from you. This one reminds me a bit of Mazzy Star. It's just beautiful.
The Break Down Song by jkane 1 year ago
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the incarnations of this song. It's so amazing how so many of us can listen to the same song and have such different ideas of how to approach it. I love your strong vocals and your firm way of handling this track. Well done.

Amazing tune. I don't understand Indian, but it really doesn't matter. Masterful craft work. Beautiful, big, and excellent in every way. I thoroughly enjoyed your voice. So relaxed.
Fit to Be Tied by Ignoramus 1 year ago
There are a lot of words I could use to describe this one, but for me, "intense" is the one that stands out. JK had a really difficult theme to deal with musically. It's hard do a story justice that is so emotional to begin with. I think all the performances really kept the central idea and feeling in mind and built on that in a very thoughtful, emotional and cohesive way. The thing I liked most about this project was that there was a real sense of putting the song first, rather than trying to outdo each other with musical acrobatics. Every bit and piece that everyone added maintained its own relevance while still allowing the other musicians to speak as well. Well done and thanks to all. I'm very happy to have been included in this.

Very cool song. Her name rolls off the tongue so easily, it was meant to be sung. Well done.
Tokyo Jam by TennVol22 1 year ago
A lot of fun and interesting little licks in here. Good job coming up with some creative and original layers without using loops only. Since you're asking for suggestions to make it better, my main advice on this would be to watch the redline when you export the track from GB to itunes. It's distorting because the master level is too high.
Revolution 90 by pinkjimiphoton 1 year ago
All I can say is... you can play! So the recording isn't the greatest, but that was obviously not the point here. The composition is really good and reminiscent of the Vietnam war era rock. Very nostalgic.

A very enjoyable track. A peculiar feel to this one. I don't know if it sounds happy or sad, but it definitely sounds euphoric. Well done.

Very sombre. A lot of cool lo-fi sounds. It took me a little time to get sucked in, but once I did, I was hooked. The build up at the end is beautiful.
Bad Smelling Funk by ElevatorFunk 1 year ago
I nearly choked on my lunch when I read your song description, especially the "hardware" section. In spite of being handicapped by substandard equipment, you seemed to have turned out a laid back, chilled track. The sound didn't cancel out, the pedal left some life in the sound, and happily the world didn't come to an end.
Die for Me by martyrprojekt 1 year ago
I actually think the male vocal suits this right down to the ground. The perspective it's written from is very obviously masculine. That could actually make it interesting to have a girl singing it though... here I'm changing my mind now. I should think about what I'm going to say before I try to write it. In any case, it's a well done composition.

This is awesome! So much going on in here. I can't believe I missed this one. I love what you've done with the music. It's really hard to add music to a vocal that actually accentuates the original mood. Great job.

Very pretty. It's nice to hear Nadie in a stripped down bare sort of way. I like how nothing in this track is overdone. This is my favorite Nadie track to date. It's nice to hear the softer side of you. Everyone else, beautiful job.
LITTLE ANGEL by ERAY 2 years ago
Voice sounds great. I like the song over all, but I agree with 4arms on the reverb. At the beginning the reverb was a nice surreal touch, but once the song got going, it failed to anchor the song rhythmically. Very high quality sound and production and you obviously know what you're doing and how to get the sound you want. Any criticism I have is purely personal preference on this one.
Pierogies for Christmas by EdPeahota 2 years ago
Hehehe.... I stopped here because I make pierogies for Christmas each year. Anyone who has ever made them knows that it is a nightmare that can end up just like this. Loved the song, now I have a something to play on my ipod while making those silly things each Christmas. You made my pierogi laden holiday a whole lot more comical this year. Thanks for sharing.

Very pretty and moody. I'm late hearing this one, but I had an itch to listen to some DGO this morning and came across it. It's raining today where I'm at and your music is a nice accompaniment to it. Nice job both of you and thanks for sharing.

Very pretty. It's nice to hear what your original inspiration and intent was for this song. It's so interesting to see how so many different artists can interpret a piece of music so differently and have such different visions of where to go with it. Thanks for sharing.

What a surprise! I haven't heard this until... well now. I love it! I was not expecting to hear anything like this when I woke up this morning. You did a really good job keeping the original intent in focus, while still creating something entirely new. My, the things you can do with a handful of seemingly random tracks.

I love seeing the many different "faces" this song is wearing. Every one of them is completely original and different from the others. The lyrics are so smart and clever and I love how you guys pumped up the beat a bit to give it a more genuine hip/hop feel. Well done
Ugly Dog Prophecies by particledots 2 years ago
Oh my goodness... right now I'm thinking, why didn't I think of that???? This is so vastly different than the ideas that ran through my head. This is really amazing. It has a bit of a Nightmare Before Christmas sound to it. Love it.
Falling into you (Cover) by katvn 2 years ago
Pretty Voice. I'm not a guitar player, but Pink's comment seems reasonable. The guitar just sounds a little "metallic" to me and is lacking the warmth that would compliment your voice. You've got a nice dark vocal quality and the bright sounding guitar just sits in opposition to it.

For Erin by AaronRuth 2 years ago
Very pretty piece. I had to listen because of the title, any song for a girl named Erin has to be good. Just a suggestion- watch that red line a bit. The song distorts a bit in parts because the levels are a touch too high. Very nicely done though.

Excellent job all around. This is so gorgeous and huge. I have no idea how you got the choirs to sound like that. I've heard this song quite a bit the last week or so, but my initial reaction to it when I heard it the first time was just pure amazement. After listening off an on for the past few days, I'm still awe struck by it.

Mirage by FractalGarden 2 years ago
Great job to all on this one. I know how hard everyone has worked on the fine tuning of it and creatively it's just superb. I'm glad to see it up and getting such good and helpful reviews. Dave, your voice is just amazing. So much power, emotion and control. I could listen to it all day... wait I did listen to it all day (he he he.) Jay-guitars are excellent as always and your choice of effects is so very well thought out and fitting for the style of the song. The term "pre-set" is just not in your vocabulary. You spend a lot of time tailoring your sound for each and every song. John- pads are gorgeous and I really enjoyed the piano section. I loved hearing the more technical side of your playing. That break was my favorite part of the song and the piano part was just the icing on the cake for me. James- really good choice of rhythms for each section of the song. Really well thought out segues from one section to another. Small little changes and fills along the way kept the song moving forward and building momentum. You should all be proud of the work you've done on this one.

Love's Enough (David Ackles Cover) by easyesteemer 2 years ago
I'm not familiar with the artist you're covering, but I think it's great to take a song and do it in a way that works for you. Most people come across a song that's too difficult and they just don't even attempt it. You on the other hand, put some thought into how you could make it your own. Great Job.

This was so much fun. Thanks for stopping by and singing a bit with me. This is probably the one and only raw, undressed track I've ever had uploaded, but it was so nice to play real live music with real instruments and people together. No production whatsoever, no multiple takes, it is what it is. A couple of friends hanging out with a 70 year old out of tune piano. I almost forgot what that actually sounds like.
