I can't believe it took me so long to hear this. This is amazing. Just... wow. Speechless.
You Know me by Songstar 2 years ago
Wow. Great production, and great voice. Not my kinda music, but what do I know? I dig the bit-crushed part right at the top, and the way the full sound breaks in. And damn, great voice! Very raw and real. I'd love to hear you throw down on something harder, maybe more punk. Nice!
No Prayers by robby_reverb 2 years ago
This is brilliant. It reminds me of early '80s goth-punk. I can hear some SoM in there definitely. Maybe some early Cure but with a harder edge to it. Whatever, you took it and made it your own. And I am clicking "Download"... now.

@GregDavies: Thanks! I am indeed an Alec Empire fan. Atari Teenage Riot is a favorite of mine.

Great stuff! Good work, both of you!

I would not define this as industrial, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is a damn fine piece of work. By far some of the best guitar work I've heard on iComp, and the production quality is stellar. In fact, the guitar work is one of the main things that keeps it from being industrial; it's too polished and pretty. If you could find a way to grind it up a bit, and then take some of those cool background atmospheric sounds and turn them into a steady percussion, then you'd be well on your way toward industrial.

That said, this is an awesome piece of work. I am in awe of your chops.

This is gorgeous. I love what a full sound you get while keeping it minimal. I don't think you need vocals with it. Maybe some atmospheric spoken word in the background.
Mesh (sans vox) by Clown_Stigmata 2 years ago
Thanks for the feedback! I will certainly take a look at the collab forum.

I would like to point out, however, that the guitars ARE real. I'm operating on a low budget - an old Stratocaster connected to GarageBand using an M-Audio FastTrack and then just using GarageBand for the effects. I suppose that might be why it sounds fake. Hopefully in the next few months I'll get a chance to invest in some better gear.

Thanks again!

Fantastic guitar sound! My only thoughts are that you could vary the percussion a bit from section to section, and you could boost the vocals. But otherwise it's a hard, intense track.
Live In San Francisco by GaryLester 2 years ago
Nice! I imagine this is what it would sound like if Nine Inch Nails ever collaborated with Pink Floyd.

The vocal samples are brilliant, and the production is top-notch. I love how clean the bass line is, considering how low you get. And the guitars are SO DIRTY. Love it!

This is a fantastic soundscape. Harsh and beautiful at the same time.
TechnoMetal Something (not done) by EquinoxShadow 2 years ago
I like this a lot -- especially the percussion. I'll be interested to hear where you go with this.

This is off the chain! I can't wait to hear it with some vocals. Very curious to see where you go with this one.

Well that is just the happiest damn tune I have ever heard. I do, indeed, feel refreshed.
Confession - (Drag the River cover) by ScottStoked 2 years ago
This one is off the chain. Too much fun. I am not a country fan as a rule, but punk covers of country always work. And this works better than most. I wanna drive around and bang my fist on the steering wheel with this one. Nice job, man!
Hurt (Johnny Cash/NIN cover) by ScottStoked 2 years ago
Really well done! Good job of "re-industrializing" a classic industrial track. I love the Cash version almost as much as the original, and this is a great amalgam of the two ideas. Is that you doing both vocals? Good range, there.
Danger (I Will Find You) by vegetal 2 years ago
This is one of the best songs I've heard on this site. Really well done. Nice blend of guitars, and the vocals are top notch. Good lyrics, good voice, really well mixed, and the whole thing drives. Awesome.

This is fantastic. I love how aggressive it sounds.

This is great. How did you make that electronic feedback-like sound?
Dance Music Sex Romance v4 by udbsynth 3 years ago
Nice! I love the idea of dance music with a dark edge. Some great beats in there, too.
Bass Distortionz (w/ vocals) by ScottStoked 3 years ago
Nice! I really like the electronic vibe the whole thing has. It is punkish, but I think you could push it in an interesting industrial direction as well.

I'm not sure. You said it's part of a rock opera; is this meant to be performed with actors? The rather abrupt changes you have here would make more sense in that case. I can go along with this being a small part of a larger whole, but I don't think it really stands on it's own. I am curious to know more about the larger story, however.

Oh, man, I really want to hear the completed version of this song! So far it sounds awesome, especially when you rock out at (what I assume is) the chorus. I'm looking forward to the rest of it!

Nice. You've got a really cool '80s Industrial vibe going. And I think you did a fine job on the percussion for this track.

Not normally the style I get into, but I can't deny that it's a beautiful song. I like that you keep your voice and the guitar up front, and the other sounds keep a nice distance behind you. And you've got an awesome voice. I like that you sound a little more rough-around-the-edges than, say, James Blunt. Really good stuff.

This is awesome. It's like something off the soundtrack to a '60s sci-fi TV show, only cooler. And I love the slow, soft stomp of the percussion. Best thing I've heard today.

I really dig this one. I love how you use the piano to keep the beat, and then totally mess with it with the drums. It's unlike anything else I've listened to today.

It would definitely help to get everything synced up a little better, and there is a section where the cymbals drown out the guitar. That said, it still has a cool groove that sounds like a long stretch of highway in a fast convertible.
