Minor 7 Demo (featuring rock violin) by mapmak 5 years ago
I think the chord changes are genious, and the intro sounds superb! But I don't really like the way you develop the song into a perfectly standard piano-pop-rock-kinda-thing. I'd like to hear that feeling of the first few seconds for more than just a few seconds... I mean, that intro is almost begging for a female voice and a sax!
Speak low by Ziur 5 years ago

WOW! Where (or "how" ) did you get the chord changes? This is awesome! I can use my super sax skills to add some sax to this, if you like. I only need a mic.

Pulp Fiction is one of the best films ever made, and this scene, in particular, is a true masterpiece. But I think you could have done a better work with the background beat. Not that the beat itslef isn't good, but you could have made some realtion between the speech and the music, and maybe add an instrumental solo, or a "B" section, or something. Like this, the song is just too minimalistic. Only my opinion.

I think the drum loop you're using doesn't fit the ambience you're trying to create. It's too "proeminent" (I don't know if this is the right word). Maybe it's only because the drum's track volume is too high, but I think that if you put only some smooth shakers or something like that it would be better.

Very good song. I can easily picture this in a movie, being sang by a femme fatal in a red dress, in a tight bar with tin lights at three o'clock to a few drunks.

I would have used a piano sound instead of the accordion, though.

Very well played.

(and here goes the story of my life)

I'm a pianist (well, in fact I'm a pianist-wannabe) but I don't have any means of recording my piano (only the mic of my mp3's player), nor any digital music equipment at home. I can only make my musics at my school, where I have a little room with a digital piano connected to a "super-modern" G3. I generally use reason's piano sounds to make the musics I publish here, but it's not the same (plus, I can only make musics during the school time). I'd like to know how much would I have to spend to get some decent (it doesn't need to be excellent) recording equipment so I could record my piano.

Excellent piano playing, as usual. The drums sound a bit too synthetic, though... but I know how hard it is to do them right without using loops (sometimes I prefer not to include them at all).

I don't know what to think of your song... I love the smooth part (although there are some peaks there that you could have avoided), and I can't say I dislike the "weird" part, but the transiction between them isn't very well done, and the hip-hop percussion and the piano... well, I was hoping for something diferent.

The song is very good, your girlfriend has a great voice! I just think it lacks a stronger bassline, maybe just increasing the volume of this one you've already got would do the trick. Because, in my opinion, there are times when it feels like something's missing. And maybe an instrumental solo... dunno. Then again, it's only my opinion. Overall it's a great job.

Galaxy Band Episode 2 by atwood1956 6 years ago

Although I wouldn't classify it as "Jazz", I liked it. Some parts remember me of Frank Zappa's "London Symphony Orchestra" (which is great), yet the final part, when you use the harder drum, doesn't fit that well (in my opinion).
