Thanks for the commentaries.
Shapiro, I tend to agree, and I think it's mainly due to my
impatient excitement to get it done at the time.
First day GB was released! But it certainly could use some work and as Dita2711 has mentioned a little longer with a middle and end for a more interesting complete piece.

I did do my best to make it as natural as I goos considering it's all loops!
Thanks theGranz.

cheers all.

This is really well put together.
I rated 5 all the way , as I listened to it I had to ask how I felt on each aspect, and that is my feeling for this piece "5".
Live at Hammersmith by CygnusX1 6 years ago
Thanks.
Incidentally a couple of local bands wanted to use it as their intro music as they hit the stage.
I wanted it to have the "Rock Arena" intro feel so I think I kinda got that for the most part.
Drive by CygnusX1 6 years ago
That was actually a loop I found, can't remember where I got it.
It was either part of a Jam Pack or one of the freebies offered somewhere.
That's the nice part is that it sounds more live than a prerecorded loop.

But I'm loading your track on my iPod and I am really picky, even some of my stuff doesn't make it.

Thanks all for the comments.
I've been away for a while, but getting back into the swing of things.

USSKJM, thanks for the suggestion, I've often though about doing more with it.
I've had some local bands here ask me if they could even use it just as an Intro bfeore they go on stage, I guess it has some good to it smiley

Thanks, I think it's the challenge of taking it a step further and actually completing it for an actual 3-4 minute track, maintaining consistency.
Anthem by PuppySuit 8 years ago
The crowd sounded better than the guitar.
Seriously do you think this is good?
Better luck next time, and you want to hear real guitar work ?
check out Planet Metal in the Metal category

Do your self a favor and don't be insulting in your commentaries be it to me or others on here.
Live at Hammersmith by CygnusX1 8 years ago
> Sounded fake to me. Go listen to my Anthem to hear the way a real crowd should sound. Better luck next time. Oh, and by the way I actually play an instrument.

Thank you!

The fact it held my attention is what did it for me too(not boring).

No Regrets (Guitar/Bass Remix) by liquidg3 8 years ago
I actually like the remix.
I didn't mind the guitar but it seemed "uncertain" in the way it was played.
Ghetto Beats by wozrus 8 years ago
Very good foundation indeed, I think this could use some good textured quick keyboard fills,
but it's a good base for sure. Very hip hop.
Planet Metal by aktm 8 years ago
Absolutely enjoyed it!
Really wicked guitar melody and it's on my iPod, don't stop now.
ElectRocker by CygnusX1 8 years ago
Da, da, duda duda - Got it!

It is too short, I think this may be worth building on.
I will also lessen the "smurfy" synth sound, and I think even an echo effect to the guitar at the end would have been better.

Cheers!
hushed walk 3 by emersive 8 years ago
welcome.
It's good to help, I need it too smiley
Ambient Dream by CygnusX1 8 years ago
The keyboard will allow even for drum beats and allowing a lot more flexibility
with textured sounds for sure.
In fact even the guitar amps in GB sound awesome through the keyboard.
ElectRocker by CygnusX1 8 years ago
Great I will get that done, may be a couple of day (kinda busy).
Regarding the guitar being extended do you mean the Heavy chunky sound or the more
distorted lead line ?
This is great feed back
hushed walk 3 by emersive 8 years ago
10 because I really could chill out to this sound.
You've improved it for sure.

Do start something new , curious to see other styles you come up with.
Ambient Dream by CygnusX1 8 years ago
> hey cygnus any development yet?

Unfortunately no. I got carried away doing the last one I uploaded, I do however have plans to do more with this one. I like that very atmospheric textured ambient feel (William Orbit influence) so I really am working on getting a keyboard soon-very soon.
Incidentally the more I listen to Hushed the more I like it and could really work into something creative.

ebiro, I usually have two ways of getting to a story. Usually I imagine space (yup planets/stars) and I have tons of images from NASA that make me think of melodies by imagining what the journey would be like.
The other is I always think melodic even for the hardest or mellow tune.

Any of you heard of John Stanford ? CD "Deep Space" great inspiration.
ElectRocker by CygnusX1 8 years ago
Thanks, that's some good suggestions.
I'll extend the guitars and make it work well, I was also aprehensive about making it longer
so as just to give a taste.
I think I may work on this and create a 3 minute version or so.
Thanks again for suggestions. I'll have a word with the smurfs smiley
ElectRocker by CygnusX1 8 years ago
Wouldn't mind suggestions on what to do.
hushed walk 2 by emersive 8 years ago
I think you have a style in mind and you make it work, I'm wondering I should have given it 10 since you accomplished what you aimed for, very chillout groove style.
I was trying to see if you could add something but nothing comes to mind right away, so I'll listen a few more times.

I just finished another one but it's edgy.
hushed walk 2 by emersive 8 years ago
This is an improvement indeed, and I can hear your influences.
Good chillout.

http://www.macupdate.com/loops.php

Grab these loops and that should give you some cool sounds!
re compose what you have as a base and we'll give it a listen smiley
hushed walk by emersive 8 years ago
well, I can see the direction you are looking to go.
You can take this and buld it up with some synth/drum combo
that's more upfront. What you have can be integrated with good mix
of synths.
Do you listen to Banco Degaia ? good for ideas

I give a six for the effort, I think this is good as a backbeat to a trance/electronica piece
you will get it.
SuperSection by Markus 8 years ago
I'm not so much into pop style but you do a great job in composing
I like the very well timed horns, this was an entertaining piece.

I was going to give it a 9 but my friend insist i go all the way so after debating it
I agreed this is well composed and had good funk.
Feel by Rob Reed 8 years ago
Freakin awesome guitar sound! I'd like to know was it directly connected to the Mac or via an imic etc.
This is better than any lousy rock/grunge stuff on the radio.
Original !

8 for creating a none-boring organ loop, 1 for mentioning Jon Lord, 1 for bringing back memories.

rosifer,
I listened to it again and it really is good the more I listen to it.
I really like the melodic approach you have.
Smoothing by Markus 8 years ago
Good composition as a pop piece. I have to admit I'm not crazy about the banjo
sound in this instance, but if you got someoene to sing on the project it would be a good pop ballad.
Good composing
Crawling by BamBoo 8 years ago
Started out well, I just think it got a touch too repetitive and could use more variations.
Decoder Ring by mcolyer 8 years ago
I did like it, I only gave it a 7 because I thought it could have some more variation to it mid way through
so as not to sound all too repetitive.
I will say you have a good idea going here and it's over all composition is good.
Ambient Dream by CygnusX1 8 years ago
thank you for the compliments and I'm glad you are enjoying it.
I totally agree that it need some development, and it's something I'm working on.
You will notice my selections will get longer but with more dynamics.

I would be happy to listen to your compositions and I always aim to give constructive thoughts
we are all learning and creating here.

I just uploaded one that is called "It was 1 a.m."
Take One (short funky mix) by mctucker 8 years ago
It's getting interesting around here.
I liked it all the way, on a personal note I'd
like to hear the back beat( which reminded me a lot of
the music from Beverly Hills Cop) turned down a bit only because
the overlaying melody was so good.

nice work

Chopin in Rio de Janero by Makimoko 8 years ago
I give it 8 because of how it was composed and you did a fine job trying to get something original.
Unfortunately not every composition will be in every ones taste but I can appreciate the effort and attempt at putting loops together to make a track/composition.
OK
Just listened again before submiting, and I stick to my 8.
Never be alone by rosifer 8 years ago
That was good, and melancholic it was, I like that.
I have to give you credit for integrating the loops as well as you did.
Nice work.

But I did enjoy it a lot.

I'm enjoying your work.

Live at Hammersmith by CygnusX1 8 years ago
Thanks for the compliments.
I did try my best to give the instruments(loops) a live feeling by using the compressors
and manually setting the 31 band EQ, rather than just throwing loops into it.

Thanks again!
