| Tribrix, Thanks for the glowing review! I tried hard to keep this down to a minimalist sound as I have the tendency to get long winded and add tons of stuff. I loved the guitar sound as well. I used NI's wonderful Guitar Rig for that. I bought the Komplete 8 package last summer and use everything in it a lot in my music. I've been pondering remixing the song and re-cutting the vocals because I am still recovering from the MRSA infection in my throat. The antibiotics are working and I'm getting better every day, so I'm thinking I could do a better job on the vocals. I agree with you that the drum track is the weakest. I just used what I had in the original tracks from a couple of years ago and built everything around that. I will consider trying to build different drum tracks if I do a new mix. Thanks again! | FYI: The last 4 months have been hell. My best friend died suddenly at the age of 49 of a massive heart attack, and then I came down with an MRSA infection similar to strep throat and almost lost my voice. I went into a deep depression when my friend died, he had been at my home on Christmas Eve and then he was dead 2 days later. I'm going to miss his presence in my life forever. Other than that, I'm okay. The cool thing is I signed a new contract with my current job and I love what I do. I've been very busy and having a great time. Everyone I work with are wonderful people and very funny and interesting people and I have a great time and learn something new every day. What more can a man ask for? I have my wonderful wife, LadyKat, I have my 2 cats, Shadow and Peaches and a crazy cockatiel named Cosmo who always wants to sing on my songs. Sometimes you can hear her! I love you folks on iComp. Pharmakeus: Brother, your comments and ratings are a very important part of me being here on iComp. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have been a friend to DJ Shadowkat for a long time. Someday I hope we can meet in person. I liked the words, too. I had fun with this... I don't know if anyone gets the one reference I make to "balls on the fence" and "ridiculousness " Ridiculousness is my favorite new show on MTV (yes, MTV) starring Rob Dyrdek, Steelo Brim and Chanel West Coast where they play very funny videos of mostly skaters, boarders and just plain crazy people doing very stupid things. The show has become a huge hit on MTV and I wish them the best. You will see many idiots wrack their balls on fences and more on the show. It's truly a LOL/ROTFL type program. I'm not a skater as I have no sense of balance at all. I fall UP stairs, for crying out loud. But it's fun watching people fail.... Drydek is a very funny guy and I have tons of respect for him after reading his WIKI bio and he's an excellent host. Dyrdek is a guy who made millions from skateboarding and other extreme sports and a clothing line and even burritos and appears to be a really crazy but sincere guy. He's had 2 other shows on MTV that I am just now catching up with and I cannot stop laughing. He's got balls the size of King Kong. Seriously. Chanel West Coast (Chelsea Chanel Dudley) is the daughter of a DJ so I kinda "get" her like a dad "gets" his daughter (hope that does not sound creepy or anything). She has this woody woodpecker laugh that just slays me. She's also a rapper and dancer and a singer and she's not too bad at all that and she's damn cute, too. She did a rap song called "Eat My Cookie" and she's so naive she did not see the sexual overtones to the song. That cracks me up. Look her up on YewToob. Steelo Brim is a DJ I think, and he's funny as hell. I love his contribution to the show, it would not be the same without him. I would like to see more of him. I love this show. Check it out, it's on Thursday nights at 9pm CST on MTV. They have famous people on the show regularly. The show is produced by the guy who did Jack-a-s-s. Peace, Always! DJSK |

| Only loops used are the drum tracks, which are the original tracks from the song I recorded a while back. The rest is new stuff via my M-Audio 88 key midi and various synths and EXS instruments. Used NI's Guitar Rig for the guitar and NI's Massive on the bass synth. Vocals are me, just havin' fun.... I laid 3 tracks of vocals doing harmonies, then mixed them to one and then duped them 3 times with different effects on each. That was fun!! I think I'm channeling Elvis on acid again! Peace, Always! | Lagusaya2, Thanks for the comments. I kinda surprised her with this mix one day a few years back after I had been bugging her about the song. I was hoping to get ahold of the original tracks but she did not have access to them. So, I sat down and spliced and diced and then sent it to her. I'm really glad she liked it and we ended up working on a couple of other songs later on. She is a very talented singer and a very nice and kind person. I would love work with her again someday. | Zarizarikun, Once again, thanks for the comments. I've been writing music all my life, but once I got hold of Garageband on my Mac everything changed! Now I AM the band!! I now use Logic Pro 9 and lots of other goodies I have collected over the years, and I recently bought a copy of Komplete 8, which is an amazing package of soft synths and sounds and instruments. | I like this song too, I'm not happy with the mix. I am in the process of remixing it now and adding the vocals as well. I've been working hard on my voice and trying to be less shy about singing.
