Biography
This is the music and strange noises created by
DJ Shadowkat.

Happy 2010, everyone!
My hope is that 2010 will be a strange and wonderful year for everyone on the planet, especially independent artists like those of us on iComp!
1/3/2010:
Posted new ambient work online. Please take a listen and you are welcome to leave a comment if inclined to do so.
More News from the "if you care" department:
I am happy to announce that I am joining up with an old friend I used to write and play music back in the 80's with and we are in the process of trading music for each of us to work on. He is a primo guitarist and not bad on the drums either. We have several ideas in progress and we are going to combine his rock n roll tunes with my crazy noises and see what happens.
I have an extremely old recording of BC & I playing something I wrote back in 1982 that I am remastering and will post here so everyone can get a laugh on how primitive it sounds, yet it shows off BC's abilities quite well, along with mine. Stay tuned, as they say.
Upgraded to Logic 9 recently! Also dug out an assortment of old loops, exs instruments and some neat gadgets that were given to me by someone I met when I first came to iComp in 2006, and have been having a blast tinkering.
If any of you are interested in collaborating on some experimental ambient works, please feel free to contact me. My email is dj_shadowkat@swbell.net. Also, if you are looking to get a new sound to some of your recordings, please contact me as I have helped a bunch of folks with their tracks!

Bio & Stuff:
I am a former radio deejay, I played every style of music you can imagine on the radio in my career. Pop, R&B, Rock & Roll, New Wave, Big Band, The Blues, Contemporary Christian, Funk, Oldies, and even Disco, eventually landing in talk radio and loving it.
I also had a mobile deejay service and I was the frontman and keyboardist in a couple of homegrown rock bands and lots of taped experiments as well. I once had a tape loop running that ran down the hallway and through a door and back around. It was wild!
I have also worked in several commercial/ad production jobs, writing, producing and voicing commercials for radio and television and I have worked in a couple of small recording studios as well.
My influences are varied and many from Pink Floyd to Brian Eno, Kraftwerk to The Orb, Apollo Four Forty to The Chemical Brothers, Deep Purple to Si Begg, Tiesto and I have to mention Dirty Vegas's 1st album is one of those rare ones that I can listen to from start to finish, along with Republica's 1st album and the legendary "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. I love Rock & Roll, The Blues, Techno/Trance/Ambient.
I am now a computer field tech for some major players in the computer industry and do warranty repair work for home and office laptops, desktops and servers.

Peace, Always!
