| Hi Richard Thanks for the comments. Although I don't have a problem with using this in worship. It's commonly accepted in Christian worship that referring to "The Cross" is not a reference to the physical wooden apparatus but to the "events of Calvary" where Christ died (and rose again!) and there is certainly plenty of hard historical evidence to suggest that crucifixion was being used B.C. It's sometimes mentioned in the Bible as "a tree" and other times as "a cross" - it's not the noun that matters but the verb. But thanks again for the comments and scores! Damian |
