Reminiscent of Christopher Cross's "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" and other examples of well-crafted, New York-style material by the likes of Burt Bacharach, Carol Bayer Sager, et al. I like it a lot! And, if it's OK to make a suggestion... Something that would help to lift the arrangement towards the big finish - especially in the last chorus/instrumental coda sections - is if the bass line could double-up and start to play 8-to-the-bar to really drive the song home! |
