Thank you for your appreciation of my attempt at recording Less Paul's old song. I often wonder how many musicians have trouble making a recording once the mic is on? Seems that is the time when I start making all kind of stupid mistakes and repeats. I enjoyed listening to your "Bolero" song.
Mabe If Your Lucky by David E. Fahnestock 1 year ago
Thank you for your constructive advice. I can't detect any hiss, but maybe my 76 year old ears are too weak at this spectrum.
I turned off the snap to grid and broke the song up into sections to delete breathing sounds etc. Maybe the dead spots between sections is causing the gating your referring to.

I'm pleased that you both liked the song. I was fooling around with the Pentatonic scale and came up with this melody. Someday I hope to get a wooden Native American flute with a deeper sound. As noted, I used the pitch change feature in GarageBand to achieve the deeper sound.

Beautiful song. Wish I could sing with a fast vibrato like you do. Your vibrato is similar to Johnny Mathis.

jlgerk,

Way back then I could do a very good take of Ernie Ford and also Nat King Cole. Alas, my vocal cords are not the same any more! Will be 75 in November.

I wanted to do the finger snapping that he did on his recording, but couldn't. I don't have a stand for the mic.

Great singing!!

Would like you to listen to my wife's classic "Maybe If Your Lucky". I don't have the musical skills to add the back ground music that it deserves.

Short, but love the harmony. The internal mic has some advantages if you stay close to the pin hole. This way it will not pick up extraneous noise. I like it's sound better than my $18.95 #33-3021 RadioShack mic. (too muddy)

A co-worker gave me an M-9 mic by CAVS. It has a much crisper sound.

Keep at it!

Kristyjo & Eurhoria,
I appreciate so very much your comments. Being some what introverted I do most of my singing around the house. It would be nice if I had musical training because I seem to have melody's going around in my head all the time.
Thank You!

Sounds great but not "a cappella".

a cappella |?ä k??pel?| adjective & adverb (with reference to choral music) without instrumental accompaniment : [as adj. ] an a cappella Mass | [as adv. ] the trio usually performs a cappella. • [as adj. ] relating to or concerned with such music : the English a cappella tradition.
