| Rebecca, thanks. The scene in the book comes on the heels of a lot of action (fighting, explosions, etc.), and I wanted to get across the sort of frenzied bereavement that often accompanies such conflicts. | |

| Ramayana 7: His Sandals Wait Before the Throne by DavidBowles | 1 year ago |
| @Mosaica, definitely what I have been trying for on some of these tracks. We don't actually know what ancient Indian music sounded like, but we do have a good idea of the basics ancient Sumerian, Greek and Egyptian music... and it doesn't quite work for the larger-than-life cinematic quality that Westerners expect from epic works, so infusing those traditions with ours creates a more palatable hybrid, I think. | |

| Ramayana-16: Vibhishana's Choice by DavidBowles | 1 year ago |
| The piano and guitar loops? Yeah, I really dig how they sound as a sarod, and they fit the melodies I'd come up with really well. Of course, I'm more interested in how you feel about the rest of the song, and not just the couple of loops I used. |

| Asim, Where's My Deer? _ by enkibumbu | 1 year ago |
| LOL. You've got these small poetic 'pauses,' like places where the melody 'inhales' before exhaling in a swell. Given your chosen lifestyle, I think that's pretty cool... ![]() |
|
| Asim, Where's My Deer? _ by enkibumbu | 1 year ago |
![]() I love the little swells of sound interspersed with nearly imperceptible caesurae. Fantastic. |

| Contented View (DI) by becwil | 1 year ago |
| Again, amazing use of choral voices. This reminds me of sci-fi soundtracks from the 80s like that of Bladerunner. It makes me think of our one day finding our destiny... out there, somewhere, in a cosmic apotheosis at some very distant remove from the present. | |
| Ramayana 2: Spells and Weapons by DavidBowles | 1 year ago |
| Becky, I finally put the songs in order the other day. If you click on my name above (right under the track name) and scroll down once you are in my music list, you will see all the songs renamed with their track number. Thanks so much for your support over the years. I too am a collector of your very powerful and emotive compositions. We are pretty much on a similar wavelength, I would say... a big hug to the significant other, and here's hoping that I finally get out to Hawaii some day! |
