| Richard, it actually sounds much better when I play it from Garageband... not sure why, but it always produced a lot of static when I export it. I had to use sound compression to fix it, but couldn't get it so it had the same impact.. The timpani's for instance were much more dramatic before compression. | |

| Oh yeah. I learn to play this song on the piano of all instruments way back in 86, and it really took form when I got my first keyboard with a pitch wheel. I used to play along with the commodore 64 and always appreciated the fact the 64 played "real notes" most old computers from the early 80's couldn't play real notes, making them an ear-sore to jam with. |

| The computer I used to sample from was rare... however the normal commodore 64 was produced for 10 years, a whopping 16 million units. The last machine made had no advantage over the first one made 10 years before it. Amazing considering a computer model rarely lasts a year these days. But just want to point out that the sound may not be so rare. |

| I remember this being the best to play on the Atari 800 (four game ports), used to get four people playing and we'd actually physically abuse each other when plots of land were being handed out so we'd get the best ones.... fond memories and some bruises.... this was the only full contact video game I ever played. This game was so twisted we'd actually cheer when our own property was struck by a meteor. You noticed the planet name is Irata, which is Atari spelled backwards. Anyway I should point out that this song is based from a song originally composed by Roy Glover.. who made the game better than its whole, simply by composing a catchy little tune. |
