Instant classic KD, brilliant stuff. Some songs have something about them that makes them so familiar upon the first listen, like it's an old favorite from childhood or something. You manage to do this and I'm jealous. Love that vocal freestyle in the bridge. |

I freakin' love your voice CR. What's your secret to getting that raspy tone? Late nights? Cigarettes? Seriously I'll do whatever it takes. This song reminds me of Ben Harper's best stuff. The song cruises along amazingly brilliantly until the very very end where it just stops out of nowhere, and the drum keeps going for one or two beats. It reminds me of a gig I was playing once where someone turned off the PA mid-song. |

The writing and performance are both brilliant (which is good, because they are by far the most important). But to be honest, I think you could get a more natural sound out of the production. Less effects on the guitar maybe, and perhaps the vocals could be pulled up a notch in some places. I wouldn't mention it if I didn't think it would be worth your effort... but it would... because the song's great... which is maybe why I'm being extra picky. |

I know what you mean about the click track. It can really mess with your natural performance. (Then of course you run into trouble later when a drummer gets angry that they can't record a drum beat over the top of your crazy timing). How did you record this? One condenser for vocals and one simultaneous for guitar? It sounds pretty good. |

Great stuff Vill. As usual, the writing is your strongest area. The mixing was great too. My ears could hardly pick a technical flaw in the sound. Maybe the guitar was a little muffled? Maybe. The lyrics were excellent, but I think you could do more with the theme. There is so much more funny stuff that you could say instead of just repeating the same verse. |
