Well, Television + Robert Fripp... This is what I had in mind at the time. I guess this is not a complete failure, then ![]() Thanks for comments |

Exceptional. I've been thinking of covering this since 78, never dared ![]() |

Your French is perfect in this context %u2014 maybe it sounds a bit Lebanese ![]() Very impressive altogether. |

Something of Syd Barrett, also ? I like it very much, and the sound is good - too bad there is so much ambient noise ![]() |

| Thanks all for comments. Well RavingRedHead, I may need to stress that I'm *not* the singer! This was originally a side project with a guitar player, along a jazzy-rock line. We both had a strong background in early French new-wave, which is probably very exotic seen from abroad, but explains the sudden Rockabilly feel in this one. Our friend Christine integrated this project magnificiently and, believe me, the lyrics are really fine. *She* was the talented one ![]() |

| More and more impressive. The end is reminiscent of Station to station (the album). | |

| The voice sounds more like John Cale than Morisson. Not bad either... | |

| I'm still wondering how you're doing all this... | |
| First try at Mars by Frippounet | 2 years ago |
| You're probably right. I just wanted to develop an idea, so I used prerecorded material I had to loop. The first melody is only a midi sequence, I guess I should play it for real. Thanks for comments. | |

| That's fun: the jacket of my first record was taken from this movie! The song also is funny. | |

| The bass is a bit far away for my taste, specially at the beginning. But the rest (gt/piano/drums) is very nicely balanced, wide and accurate. The guitar work is awesome, well done. | |

| Very very nice, I love this one. Sounds a bit like Fever, only played by Can (ie: how I imagine they would have played it...) and produced by Massive Attack. Interesting mix up...I don't know how you manage to put so much reverb on the voice and still sound modern... | |
| Pas de neige by Frippounet | 2 years ago |
| Thanks for comments. I have a lot of fun discovering the mastering tools in Logic, so I'm going back to my old tapes. I also like the bass sound very much on this one - this is mostly the sound of a Warwick Thumb-4, which is also incredibly nice to play. | |

| Very nice. Enervated but still very attractive. Love this | |

Very nice as usual ![]() Is it something from Janacek I hear at the beginning? Then it is more reminiscent of some of Jocelyn Pook's work. |

| Very impressive. The outcome works much better than the old mix did, although the difference is subtle. | |
| Love Will Tear Us Apart [Joy Division cover] by BewareTheFish | 2 years ago |
| I was kind of skeptical when I tried this one, I must admit I enjoyed it immensely. It sounds simple and immediate, but this probably required work and dedication in such a context. Sounds a bit like early America's songs. Very good. | |

| Nice synth groove. You're right you could probably work on the other sounds, and also improve the end. | |
| Rule of Thumb #1 by Xolv | 2 years ago |
| Very nice balance between sounds, instruments, short additions... It's impressive how thumb playing makes the guitar sounds like Wes Montgomery — or is the sound worked specifically in this direction? I guess so, judging from the organ and drums... | |

| Thanks for comments. I'm aware of at least another stick player on icomp, about as productive as I am... If you're interested in the instrument there are many videos on Youtube, some of which are excellent. From your profile I see you may really be interested: playing is tough (entirely different from guitar techniques), but rewarding (slowly!). |

Very nice, thanks. I agree there is a bit of Barry Adamson here, perhaps also something reminiscent of Massive Attack (probably the combination of the time signature and the funny inverted sound at the end of the loop). I'm afraid there is very little room for voices, though Or maybe just that: voices. I really like the guitar sound near the end, could come from Fripp & Eno. |

| Thank you all for comments. The Doors? This is unexpected, but interesting... I guess this means I still can't hold my early influences at bay ![]() |

![]() Excellent cover, very unusual for a rock song and more in the jazz spirit: to build something completely unexpected from a good tune than didn't work that well in the original - especially difficult with such a monument. I've been dreaming of an alternate version of this one for 35 years... thank you! Reminds me of Eyeless in Gaza. |
