Biography
Welcome,
Grahame Edwards has had an interest in music from a very early age. He grew up in Essex UK, as the son of a watch and clock repairman. As a young child he spent time at his father's shop, a sound scape of ticking grandfather clock escapements in wooden resonant vessels punctuated by the rich overtones of hourly chimes; this made him very inquisitive about time, tone and harmony. A stint at piano lessons and a school string program began a path of striving for musical literacy which led to study in a nearby town at a music academy on the violin. A move to Canada and entry into a band program meant a switch to string bass. An inspirational percussionist street performer and the marching band aspirations of the band director caused him to learn drums and recuperation from a skiing accident led to learning the guitar. Retired from being a school music/band/choir teacher, Grahame plays around the region in various groups including his own Wire Choir.
