Loopy turn of the century by ciheins 1 year ago
Happy birthday indeed. Well, I was going to suggest using the Grammy Awards but it looks like becwil beat me to that but that's what I'd do.

I know time is short but if you have it try to make the transitions a bit smoother. Doing a montage can be jarring sometimes without good changeovers.

Indeed. Sometimes my mixes get so thick that it's difficult to understand what's being said. It's a recurring problem I have but GarageBand is limited in its post-production abilities but I think the vocal track could be brought out a bit in something like Logic.

However, I would like you to know what's being said so here it is:

They say that the Earth rose up and smote mankind on her bedrock for his pride and indifference. Our mother, who had sheltered and carried us through time and space unleashed her fury of storms and rising seas against her unruly children for polluting her waters and poisoning her air.

We were brought to the brink of our extinction but, she couldn't bear to see our light extinguished and gave us another chance. Hoping against hope that through her trials we might grow and learn, but mankind's greed was too strong. Gaia had shown us new wonders in order to bring about a golden age but we were blinded by our lust for this new power and the cycle of destruction began anew.

The ley lines she had revealed to us gave men a new power, but mankind and power makes a potent mix and we used this newfound source to rebuild what we had caused to be destroyed. Old enmities were given new life and the power of magic offered new avenues to pursue our perversions. Still, there was goodness to be found in the hearts of some, and this brought hope that we could rise above our dystopian nature. Ever hopeful, mankind believed in a brighter future, as the fear of our planet's wrath lingered in memory.

I don't know about glitches or flaws with that blues guitar. Perhaps a bit out of time sync but it doesn't sound like a mistake to me. I like to hear things that are sometimes a bit out of sync like that. It provides a touch of aural interest that can be lacking sometimes in loop production.

Anyway, I liked it.

Sounds a lot like a pro movie score. Something for a montage scene or perhaps the credits sequence. At any rate, a good piece of work.

Don't really know what more I can say about these great works in this collection. They are all fantasticaly adept and intensive.

Though these works involve a lot of emotion there is definitely an intellectual drive that engages the listener. Would work great as background but there is a quality which brings it to the foreground of the consciousness. Definitely good stuff.

You do have a way with emotional invocation with these pieces and they are much enjoyed.

Most interesting and quite evocative. There are subtleties in there that suspend reality and create an ominous mood, here in the darkness

I like the minimal quality here. There is something to it that gives me the sense of anime. A good thing by my reckoning. Just the same, this is enjoyable.

This is fun! You have a clear voice and nice vocal quality. It reminds me of somebody but I can't quite figure out who it is?! Maybe it'll come to me later. Anywho, I had fun listening to this. You gaffing Elvis at the end was funny.

I like the anticipation in the opening and the slight disonance for the lead in. After that it kind of takes me back to high school and the music that was popular on the radio in the later 80's. I think I hear a little bit of asymetry but that could just be the way its played since I know little of guitar playing myself, but none the less I do like it. Nice work.

A note to the listener, my voice is heavily modified for this by vocal transformers in GB! LOL Thanks a bunch for the great comments though. I had a great time doing this piece, and I did have a little trouble doing the vocals because I kept laughing! So I just had to include some laughter on the track.

Great re-work from lesser equipment. Great sound and vocals really pull at the heart strings. Personally, I think its better than a lot of commercial music coming out lately. Great job!

I really like the concept on this one. I'm really into all the different rhythmic aspects that are competing in here. I might suggest doing a little work on mixing the levels to get a little better integration in the sound. But totally liking the concept for this one! it's good work.

This is a great idea. I like the changeover, radio station scanning parts. I do somewhat agree about the crowd sounds though. I like it in the bginning part but after the effect sound, I think it would be better if you switched to a beat track without the background crowd. I would say to give that a try in your master to see how that sounds. Still a great song as it is.

If this is one of your first attempts then I'd say keep going cause this is some good DnB. I like the evolution of the song and the piano break which I think lends a bit of interest in there. Great job, and keep working!

Good song and I like the concept. I agree with nemo about the distortion though. Maybe check the levels and make sure they aren't shooting up into the red. I have that problem a lot myself. Good luck with it though, sounds good.

Funky and groovy. I love a good chill out song like this.
Whatever by Baza 5 years ago
I agree with the above suggestions, though I do tend to be a fan of abrupt sitar introductions in my own music. But I do think that layering will help with this. The sound overall is good and I like the build. I would suggest laying some different things in background to check out how it sounds and get some ideas and keep tweaking with it. You should definitely not abandon it.
