| Thanks, Patti! That performance was what inspired me to do the cover. I heard that song and it brought tears to my eyes. | |
| HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! My Valentine by Paul McCartney (cover) by GoofyDawg | 3 months ago |
| You're the second person today that said something similar about Paul McCartney. ) The Beatles (of which he was a founding member) had a huge influence on pop and rock. Wow! I'm really dating myself... | |
| You Bring the Best Out of Me by GoofyDawg | 3 months ago |
| Thanks, Pharm! I did add vocals and also another electric guitar for more grit. Will be posting soon. Again, thank! | |
| You Bring the Best Out of Me by GoofyDawg | 3 months ago |
| Yeah, there's a bit of a contrast between the vocals and the backing music. I noticed that last night, so I actually re-recorded the vocals to make them fit better with the music which is at a high tempo. Less "pretty" and more emotional. | |

| In The Vibe - SRV Tribute by GoofyDawg | 1 year ago |
| @pharmakeus I see your point and thanks for the feedback, but I rather enjoy the dueling guitars. The song is a tribute, but it's not meant to specifically copy his style, just capture the "feel," if you know what I mean. I also think that adding voice would actually take away from the song. It is, after all, an instrumental. Thanks! | |

| Never Trade - Final Mix and Master by GoofyDawg | 1 year ago |
| Thanks, Pharm! Yeah, I added a sub effect during mastering, plus inserted a FatEQ for a little extra bottom contour. That way I could bolster the bass and the kick drum without having them over-power the mix. I definitely went for a scooped mix. Learned a lot about mixing/mastering in Logic Express with this song. Again, thanks! | |

Thanks, Pharm! The "spanish" guitar is actually a steel string. ![]() |

| Not sure yet. It kind of took on a life of it's own as an instrumental. | |

| The Long Way Home by GoofyDawg | 1 year ago |
| @Tallisman Vox, eh? Didn't really think of that, but now that you mention it, I could use the bridge as a refrain, then write another bridge to break it up a bit. Cool idea! Thanks! | |
| The Long Way Home by GoofyDawg | 1 year ago |
@nlsn Funny that you mention the peppers! Before I recorded the song last night, I was listening to them for a couple of hours at my office! I must've been channeling John Frusciante! ![]() |

| The Breakup by GoofyDawg | 2 years ago |
| Thanks for the kind words and encouragement! Amazing what a little professional evaluation can do to help direct a song! I highly recommend the SongDoor music evaluation service (http://www.songdoor.com). The evaluator gave me tips on my lyricism and while she liked the music, she gave me tips on adding some dramatic content. I originally sang the song with sort of a cool, jazzy vibe going on with my voice, but I re-recorded it so the angst in the lyrics came out in the singing. Rewriting and re-recording the song was really all about giving myself permission to put everything on the line, and not hold back, lest I offend someone, and to fully express what I was thinking. The song's not about me, but based upon conversations with a very close friend and his recent divorce, and his angst and resolve in ending his marriage after his wife strayed. |

| Lovin' You Again by GoofyDawg | 2 years ago |
| When I play it live, it's just with a piano, and it sounds great, but I just couldn't capture it with my equipment. What I'm planning to do is actually record it live with my band, so I can get a much more natural, spontaneous vibe out of the tune. | |

HA! That's my three year old hitting his street hockey stuff in the background. Funny thing, I had my eyes closed while recording the guitar on the right side of the mix, and didn't even notice him come into the garage and start playing. When I record the final version of this, it'll be clean. |

| Psalm 32: I Turn To You by GoofyDawg | 3 years ago |
| Thanks so much! It's very pleasing to hear that people are using this music. Make whatever changes you want. Hint: I bring it up a full note when performing it in Mass - got feedback that it was too low at "fill me with the joy of salvation." But will you just do me a favor and put something like "Music by Brendan Delumpa" just to acknowledge where the song came from? It's not so much a copyright thing as a simple acknowledgment. Enjoy! And thanks again! |

| Running From The Future by GoofyDawg | 3 years ago |
Thanks, pharm! I'm really jazzed about the gear I used for this song. I just put a new speaker in my Hot Rod Deluxe (Strat panned to the left), and the cleans are just amazing now. On the right side of the mix and for the lead, I used my new Prestige Heritage Elite (http://www.prestigeguitars.com) and Aracom VRX22 (http://www.aracom-amps.com). I know, kind of sounds like an ad, but that guitar and amp are simply fantastic. I talk about 'em A LOT. ![]() |

| Psalm 146: Praise the Lord My Soul by GoofyDawg | 3 years ago |
It's actually a contemporary/rock band that I lead! ![]() You're right. You can't please everyone, and I've learned to just ignore the naysayers; well, not really ignore them, but essentially let my Faith and love for the Mass speak for itself. Not that I dispense with any of the tradition - I love some of that stuff, but frankly, I have a preference for a loud, screaming guitar over the traditional instrumentation such as an organ. I also do a lot of piano work, but that's because I love to play piano as well. I do have to admit that it was a bit of a shock when I first started the band. At first it was just me playing piano. Then I got some other musicians to join, and before you know it, we had a full-on rock band. But it wasn't the music that appealed to the people - it was the energy, and our enthusiasm in praising the Lord - because that's what it's all about. I've been accused of not being reverent, but over the years, I've asked people who accuse me of this, "What's the face of reverence?" Technically, it's the show of respect, or a gesture of respect. For some, it's sitting in quiet meditation. For me and my mates, it's playing loud rock and roll and singing at the top of our lungs! Glad you enjoy! |

| Lookin' for the Good Life (v2) by GoofyDawg | 3 years ago |
| Thanks for all the comments, folks! When Mick suggested a definitive ending, I've been trying to work one out, but got caught up in Honey-Do projects; you know, the wife saying, "Honey, do this. Honey, do that..." It's all good. Final version will be cut with a definitive ending. Thanks again! |
|
| Lookin' for the Good Life by GoofyDawg | 3 years ago |
| Great comments! I was just thinking the same thing about the vocals. I had to use a cheapo mic preamp when I recorded the song, and it really shows. Not enough output from that preamp, so I have to add input gain on my board. Definitely not idea. I'm waiting for a new power supply for my regular pre-amp and will re-record the vocals. As far as the guitars are concerned, it's funny you mentioned that the lead guitar is out of tune. It's actually in tune. The rest of the song is just off. I realized that when I was recording the lead on the outro. I just tuned my guitar! Oh well, I'll be putting up a new track in the next couple of days. Thanks! |

| Jam Track 6: No Name by GoofyDawg | 3 years ago |
| Thanks for the comments, folks! Trilobite, thanks for the offer! I'll upload a more non-jam track version of the song in the next few days. I've got a melody line to sing over the guitars' melody line, but I've got to get the right lyrics for the song. As far as Ted Hawkins is concerned, sorry, but I'm not familiar with his stuff. I'll check it out though, for sure! |

| Something in the Way She Moves by GoofyDawg | 3 years ago |
| Thanks for the compliments, guys! Pharm - Actually, that "hiss" is the fan from my computer. I used a ribbon mic that pics up everything in back as well as the front, and since I was recording both vocal and guitar at the same time, I had to up the input gain to pick up both. Next time I'll use two directional mics close to the source to limit the ambient.Pdx - Yeah, I played the guitar on that as well. Like you, I love JT's music. He was my very first guitar hero when I was a teenager, learning to plunk the strings. ![]() Cheers, everyone! |

Thanks so much! And thanks for the welcome! BTW, That "acoustic" is actually my Strat! For some reason, it sounds very acoustic through my Hot Rod. Apparently, it likes that amp a lot. |

| Gathered As One Body by GoofyDawg | 4 years ago |
| Thanks, Fr. Darryl! When we do this communion, I slow the tempo a bit, and use a 4-part harmony (sorry haven't notated that - I had my singers memorize it) . In any case, here's a link to the music:http://www.masshysteriaband.org/orgmusic/GatheredAsOneBody.doc It's a lead sheet with chords, melody and the first harmony. I've got other stuff for Mass on the site as well: http://www.masshysteriaband.org/orgmusic.asp. Please feel free to check it out. I can create quick spec recordings of those songs that don't have recordings. |

Thanks so much for the great comments. As far as the solo is concerned, I don't know if I could duplicate it. I must've done about 20 to 30 takes of that section, and the solo was actually a mistake! But it sounded so good that I decided to use it. |

| Reputation by GoofyDawg | 4 years ago |
| Thanks for the feedback. It's the beginning of a collaboration with my buddy, Ig. We want to see where we can take this, so it's definitely a rough cut. I posted here for feedback, but also for a central place for Ig and I to collaborate. As far as structure is concerned, there's really no set structure - yet. I have a bridge in mind that I need to notate and send to Ig. There won't be a chorus; however, that said, I'll be adding a tag or outro to end the song. I just faded down the very long test track Ig sent me. The next rendition will be much more polished. Again, thanks for the feedback! |

| Great God by GoofyDawg | 4 years ago |
| Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, I tried to bring the bassline a little more up front, but it's one of those bass sounds that's really FAT, so bringing it further forward would really make the background boomy. I'm going to snoop around the bass sounds in GarageBand to see if I can come up with something with a bit more clarity. Thanks for the kudos!!! |
