you guys are fun to listen to. again, i'm always in awe of quality hi-frequency control...
Amyloid Tea Party by AudioIrony 1 year ago
wow. i've always had difficulty mastering this style of music (what on earth is aphex twin categorized as?). always liked it, though. so as a layman, therefore, do i doff my hat in admiration...
I felt . . . by AudioIrony 1 year ago
wow. subtle and masterful. you guys did a wonderful piece of work here. your control is magnificent.
OPEN YOUR MIND by blaisemagee 1 year ago
i liked this one alot. especially the higher frequency bleeps and bloops. they worked well together... lots of vocal samples aren't really my cup of tea, but these were not a distraction nor a detraction...
the sound of this one (and to a limited extent, your last track) is quite different. i see you're still using fruity loops. what's different? is it a settings thing? whaterver it is, you've got a handle on it now. good work.
DIRTY BEATS by blaisemagee 1 year ago
yeah, how do you pitchbend? can you do that on garageband? anyone know?

edit: and i liked this one, sorry... and i should clarify: by "pitchbend" i had in mind the slowing/speeding up of bpm, not the changing of tone.
DEEPEST REALM by conorcorbett 1 year ago
you'll have to teach me how to do those high frequency transitions. that's something i haven't mastered. you're the king of transitions, conor. those always get my attention. i'm working as fast as i can on my latest stuff, too. you're putting the pressure on!
MINOTAUR by conorcorbett 1 year ago
conor! great track! i agree with wobbles on the pitch black reference. i love your transitions from sound group to sound group. the oldschool tribal thing really works. that thin dragging sound just before and during the digeridoo-ish sound near the middle of the track was unexpected and enjoyed. the full movement after that reminded me a bit of 'deepest jungle' by mike, i think it was...

overall: fantastic.
RHOMBUS by conorcorbett 1 year ago
the synth work and the final mix were done in gb.

dude, seriously, you have the best ear. are these really only loops from gb? if so, see above. if not, you've got smokin' talent. either way...
Just Leave It by RichardClairemont 2 years ago
dig! i say throw a curve ball and use monotone hal9000-ish vocals with heart-felt romantic lyrics. i think it would work.
Prone To Disaster by RichardClairemont 2 years ago

people are telling you you're selling out? strange.

i like it very much as it stands. poppy female vocals are not missed. i think it's sweet.
Berezka by RichardClairemont 2 years ago

oh yeah, man, that's frickin' sweet. the little tapping synth coming there near the last third of the song and then rounding it out was an especially nice touch.
Pea Tea by Iconoclast 2 years ago
thanks guys. thanks for the ideas richie. i was also not too happy with the drum sounds. it's hard to resist remixing my old stuff before putting it out, but it's good to keep my older work on hand to hear how i've progressed/what needs more work...
Pilot (baron mix) [Wellspring 12] by Iconoclast 2 years ago
i'm not familiar with these features. i'll have to check them out.
Accommodation of Desire by musikgrl 2 years ago
yeah. your voice is painfully beautiful. my only suggestion would be to try the mix without the words "accomodation of desire" in the lyrics. i'd be interested to see how it plays... beyond that little experiment, your composing is fantastic. i guess i should go read your bio now...
All Over You (remix) by musikgrl 2 years ago
ps/ i prefer this mix. it has a bit more power and immediacy. i don't think it's a matter of tempo, though...
All Over You (remix) by musikgrl 2 years ago
your voice is stunning. how did you make the oboe sound? is that part of an expansion pack?

fantastic.
Out On The Wing by Citizencal2 2 years ago
wow! excellent, especially the very patient opening and the horns in the body of the track. i'd like to get my mitts on this and remix it!
Tropical Splash by Telemetry 2 years ago
i liked this. it has kind of a seventies blaxploitation-flick feel to it. a lot of fun to listen to it.
My Jam on G major Heaven ballad by fminorpenta 2 years ago
i liked this a great deal, but as for the bends, it sounds like you're a little hesitant in some places. i say really let it rip. when i (used to) play, i would overshoot and then tremolo until i found the right tone, and then i'd sort of "wiggle" into it. done quickly it sounds pretty good. but bear in mind i was always a page-type, not a clapton-type; i played dirty!
trudging on by lifeslittlediseases 2 years ago
now that was good. what program did you use for this? excellent use of pass, withholding the treble till just the right little moments...
5L33P3R by KnqulearShift 2 years ago
nicely done! i really enjoyed the patient build, made the drop that much more affecting. i never knew what was coming... something i haven't yet mastered in my own work. loved the contrast between the male/female vocals.
Speculative Mania (HTB) by becwil 2 years ago
fantastic composition. i do love the flat, precise, matter-of-fact tone of the vocals. the only beef i've got is when the choral vocals first come in in those short stabs, they sound a little synthetic, and this only clashes because the rest of the piece is so warm and full. they do eventually develop into something quite pleasant, though.
Watermark by KnqulearShift 2 years ago
wow, what an interesting experience! love the insistent hook and its relationship with the more transient elements of percussion. nice playful ending, too. i'd love to remix this.
SPACE DISCO by conorcorbett 2 years ago
ah, excellent mix, conor. love the grunting synth and the reverse percussion sounds. great urban minimalism. but i did want it to go on longer!

The Collision of an altered freedom by OMNICELL 2 years ago
i have nothing constructive to offer. fan-fricking-tastic. reminds me of damian schwartz's remix of friendly people's 'music is improper', on the off chance anyone's heard it.
No fear by 921 2 years ago
your production is so delicate. excellent work! though i admit i could do without the vocals, as a personal preference... but it certainly fits overall.

you obviously have a great ear. i would very much like to hear something of your own making (in terms of loops used).
SCHIZO by conorcorbett 2 years ago
conor, i do love your work. the synth sound at the very start of the track (and intermittently throughout), what instrument is that? what type of synth?

also, do you record your own vocals or are those vocal samples included in the program(s) you use?
