| This is killer. It needs a little more sound to fill it up in some places. Particularly in the galloping areas. Just my opinion tho... Your playing is very good. |

| I always hate my tone. The reason it always sounds like crap is because I'm forever screwing with things. Plus I think my headphones fool me into thinking the tone is better than what I'm recording. One day I'll get it right... | |

| Alan the drum line is just too simple for the way heavy rhythm track. Everything else sounds good to me. I think I'll side with Waltz on the tapping part but I was kind of thinking you were getting that sound intentionally. I totally adore the heavy rhythm guitar. It's really sweet! | |
| Iota by Drakbots | 20 days ago |
| These are my favorite type of mix's. Lead distorted guitar over slow clean guitar. It's a great formula for some awesome songs. Nice to hear a very well played and clean recording that's not overworked. This is kinda begging for some deep vocals. The change up in the middle is a nice touch as well. Way heavy on the reverb though... Good post. I'm downloading. |

| I think it's got more of an Aerosmith kind of rock funk feel to it. The overall feel of the song is great. I agree with what was said about the guitars. I didn't really find anything wrong with the vocals but I'm one of those people that doesn't pay much attention to vocals and have to force myself to focus on them. It's one of my unfortunate weaknesses. I have vocal deficit disorder i guess. Overall I like your tune. |
|
| The ****kickers ball by southside | 3 months ago |
| That was great dude. Very much Southern Rock. I really like! Whatever track was panned all the way right needs to be brought more into the mix. I can tell it's lead guitar track but it's so low in the mix that its not really contributing to the mix. The overall quality of the mix is superb. |
|
| Persistence ( For Reference only: Demo track) by albumflaps | 3 months ago |
| I think the guitars are a bit dry and treble sounding. But... If you added bass guitar then they will probably sound just right. I agree with Greg about the effects. You usually manage to get great tone but the busier the mix the more I think you have to back off the effects. Especially delay and reverb. I have noticed that your mixes are always very loud. I was wondering why this is. I never mentioned it before because I thought it was part of how you were getting that big fat tone. Cool riffs in this piece and nice layering so that the guitar tracks kind of play around each other. I like that stuff a lot! |
|
| Power Trip by albumflaps | 3 months ago |
| Sounds great. Has a very cool vibe. I agree about the drums. They fit but just don't have the full sound the guitars have. I guess you are just too good at recording the 6 string. The whole thing really took on a new feel when the vocals came in. I was really digging it. Maybe there should have been vocals in places scattered through the song. Great recording dude! |

| Heart Shaped Box - Cover by Zombre | 3 months ago |
| A: The Vocals are very good. Great Actually. B: The mix is really balanced and feels good between my ears. C. The background guitars sound great. There is a little something in there that really sounds sweet to me but I don't know how to describe exactly the parts. D. In the very beginning I thought it sounded like part of the recording was clipping. Is that intentional? When the vocals came in the rest of the mix settled in and I didn't hear it any more. E. I didn't like the little break part of the solo. Maybe if it were a little simpler. Overall: This could easily be played on the radio. The song is already a hit and I think there would be few who argue against this version being superior than the original. |

| New World Disorder (Take 2) by albumflaps | 3 months ago |
| Hell, I think the second one sounds great. I love the riff's and tone. I still think the drums should be a little more prominent in the mix. Superb and very "Epic" recording. | |
| New World Disorder by albumflaps | 3 months ago |
| I think everything is great except the volume of each instrument in the mix. I think I would have mixed it a little differently. I think the drums need to be more prominent to keep the whole song more together. Overall it really sounds good to me. I wouldn't change the tone or riff's at all. | |

| Splasicmenco by albumflaps | 4 months ago |
| I like this recording. This is way different than anything else I've heard from you. The ambiance... the vibe is really deep. There is something about the way the notes are played that grabs me. The attack on the notes is stronger than I'd expect for an ambient piece. It works... Kind of sounds Asian or Oriental in some ways. Almost sounds like you were playing a harp in some areas. Great sounds to play with the senses. |

![]() I could tell you were using a slide. It sounds like it. The only thing I want to point out is that when you slide into your notes you need to practice landing on the pitch. A lot of the notes seem to be flat. Needs a hook. Some little riff that get's your attention and repeats occasionally during the song. It's a cool little jam though. It get good around the time when the vocals come in. I like it. |

| Simply Beautiful Blues by albumflaps | 5 months ago |
| I didn't hear the "Winker" until the second listen. Haha.. Really beautiful track man. Totally movie background music type stuff. I envision a well dressed gent stopping by the bar for a drink or two on his way to pick up his girl for a romantic night on the town. His mind is flashing all the great things he and his girl will do while this music plays in the backdrop and as the music ends the camera fades away as he departs the bar dropping a cig butt into a half empty drink and tipping his hat on the way out. What makes these tracks work well is not so much how well you play the riffs you make up but how you shape the notes you decide to hang on. This recording already sounds great already but If I were to try and make it better I'd listen for those notes that are just a little plain and try to slide into them or shape them with a bend or slight dive. Maybe also trying to let them sustain until you just have to move on to the next riff. You've been putting out some awesome stuff. |

| Rough as a badgers bum blues... by albumflaps | 5 months ago |
| This is great stuff. The playing is excellent and the vibe is awesome. I'm hearing a little anomaly in the bass guitar that I don't like. I presume you are using a patch to make the guitar sound like a bass. Maybe I'm wrong... Other than that this is a great blues track. Really the kind of blues I like. |

| Who I'm Supposed To Be by JTC | 5 months ago |
New Route? Every day is a new route. I hope something different happens every time I press record. Lately it seems like when I sit down to work on a collab for someone else I get sidetracked and start working on my own project. I kind of feel bad about it actually. I've told Allan twice (I think) that I'd play on his tunes and never have given him anything. |
|
| Who I'm Supposed To Be by JTC | 5 months ago |
| Thanks for the great comments. My drums are always crappy. I'm still programming my own drums using my BR600. I need to learn different ways to add drums. The acoustic guitar is real acoustic on my $35 acoustic guitar. I think the bass is too loud and muddying up the mix. I'm also very disappointed in the sustain on the lead guitar. I needed the notes after the big bends to ring out longer and they just sizzled out. Again, Thanks for the comments. |

| Time by Fioretti | 5 months ago |
| That was pretty good. I think you did the actual solo very well. Some of the guitar you added in other parts of the song didn't seem to sit in the mix as good as the solo did. Not so much the playing but tone and volume which made it sound more like an outside recording was added in. Which is exactly what it is but the goal is to make it sound like it was originally part of the mix. Overall I think you did a great job. |

| Take Me Away by Zombre | 6 months ago |
I like the song overall and the mix sound's good to me. The solo break is right on. During the song I was focusing on the sound of everything and forgot to pay attention to the vocals to see what it was really about lyric wise. So, I'm listening again. |
