One Day I Woke Up and Realized... by JaiNitai 5 years ago
Thanks, SPQR. I have a vision for the video for this song. I hope I can get around to actually making it.

Thanks, Jake. The song is purposely short, as it's meant to simply be an interlude. This is really a song that's part of a concept album and meant to be heard in the context of the entire album, as well as part of a multi-media presentation including dance, drama and video. During this particular song you'd have to envision an underwater scene with women sleeping in beds and that have long flowing hair. As they're lying there a woman in a red dress goes floating/swimming by, being chased by a man with a hippo head and dressed in a tuxedo. Like I said, it's hard to appreciate without actually experiencing it.

Thanks for the kind words, El Smith and Jamo. Yep, those are my vocals (with heavy effects of course). That's the only "non-loop" part of my songs. I'm glad you caught the concept, Jamo (I assume you're referring to the title and how it relates to the song).

For some reason it reminds me of Korn...at least I can imagine that dude's vocals over this track. And that's not a bad thing, of course. Do you do any singing on your songs?? They'd really sound pretty sweet with vocals.

Hey there buddy, just had to check out your songs since you stopped by and checked my songs out. Have to say I'm delightfully pleased by your craftsmanship and musical sensibilities. I would have to echo what everyone else here is saying. Although I would say I'm not sure about that gamalen (or however you spell that Japanese sounding instrument). Kind of makes it feel like Japanese hip hop or something. Some horns and strings would have been killer. Anywho, great stuff. I look forward to checking out your other tunes.

Is that Satan on the vocal track? Good beat and fun to dance to. Two thumbs up!

Definitely not Harry Potter-ish, but definitely Tim Burton-ish. I could see this being in one of his stop animation films. Good stuff. You put the loops together very well.

Oh...this is the song that Robo sang to in his drunken Mr. Rogers voice! smiley I was wondering where he got the song from and now I know.

This song kind of makes me think of Charlie Brown...naked...covered in chocolate...hmm...interesting.

I think the greatest thing about this is that you're actually playing it and that it's not loops. Great stuff. Very original and advant-garde.

Nothing pregnant here? My god, I would hope my songs weren't sleeping around! I don't think the songs are "wishy washy", but yeah, like you said (and we keep saying) everyone has their own tastes. I guess some people just like the taste of poop better than the taste of a fine cheese.

Nice guitar playing. Not really something I'd listen to for fun, but I can't deny you can play the guitar really well.

Why does this sound familiar...like the other song "collapse"??

Kind of boring. Doesn't really go anywhere or take you anywhere. Just the same sounds over and over and over and over. No key changes, no pitch change, nada, zip, zero. I think it works as music over a video, but not as a song on its own. That's just my two cents.

Pretty cool that it's all live instruments. But in terms of originality or creativity it kind of sounds like re-hashed stuff. It still rocks, though and is a great first upload. Welcome to the community!

Tastes a little like the "Art of Noise" and that's a big compliment. Can't wait to hear more from you. Cheers.

Great stuff. Reminds me of Peter Gabriel's work on Last Temptation of Christ.

I dig it. Anyone who can play improvised piano like this is okay in my book.
