Biography
Hey Guys, this is just a profile to get my music out and to say that I love Jesus. I want everyone to know who I do this for, and what my life is about. I'm just a musician kid from Colorado who loves to play.

My Rock Instruments:
Piano: I've been playing since we got a Baldwin about 8 years ago. I've always loved to play even in the times where I thought piano wasn't very important to a band because a lot of bands had left out the piano in recent years. But a lot of artists are bringing it back and making a great come back in rock/alternative music with this classical sounding instrument. I've been fairly inclined to it partially because my dad plays the piano very well. He has been leading worship for churches all across the U.S. for over 20 years. I've wanted to be involved with piano at every place I get to be apart of musically, including New Life Church, The Gathering at Jackson Creek, and places in North Carolina where I wanted to serve. I'm currently taking Jazz piano weekly from a musician named Steve Barta. He's written many books which I use on a weekly basis in my piano playing. Piano really is my main instrument, I've loved to learn how to play, and loved to learn how to use it to lead in worship.
Guitar: I love to play the 6 stringed guitar, (electric or acoustic) I'm better at rythm, but I can play lead on occasion. I usually play guitar in correlation with church, and leading worship for the most part. I started playing guitar about 4 years ago when I found a nylon guitar in a closet in our house. I dusted it off, and checked some chords online, and really just taught myself. I've learned occasionally from friends, I took guitar lessons for a few months from a good friend, Jon Wise (back when I lived in North Carolina). I've enjoyed leading worship for campfires and such, while trying to be aggressive with it as far as current bands go. I love guitar, and I love to learn more about how to serve God using it.
Drums: I started playing drums about 4 years ago when my youth group had a drum set out that we were free to play on. I started to pick up some grooves from the drummer there, and really started playing off and on for the rest of my drumming life (kind of pushing it, but what the heck.). I've taken Drum lessons from Brad Nyght for a semester or so. I've also played drums in school for the past year, and have played in the Marching band as well. Drums have the most control over a band, and that's one of the reasons that I love to play it so much (I love control
. I love to write for the rythm section in a piece, that's definitely my favorite part of writing. When I get a beat going in my head, I just can't calm down until I get it out. So, drums and rythm are a large part of my life musically.
Bass: I love to play bass partially because it has a lot of control over a band (kind of like drums). A lot of calling in the church is aimed towards bass simply because not a lot of people really want to play it. I started playing bass when my parents bought me a 5 string for Christmas 3 years ago and I just sort of picked it up. I've played bass in the jazz band for 3 semesters and the bass is really starting to grow on me. I also currently play bass for two services on sunday at New Life Church, and also for a Junior High prayer meeting on tuesday nights. I love the control to throw in different notes to make different chord structures and change the mood of the song. Bass is really a great instrument to be involved with, and I'd like to be more serious with the jazz side of things.
