| LOVE HURTS (cover) by SISTERS | 9 months ago |
| This is one of my all-time favourite songs, and this version is terrific. I'd probably have preferred the overly loud strings to disappear (they just broke the mood for me), but otherwise a top rendition. Nice one Bob and Big Sis! Cheers from Oz, Neil |

| [quote="pharmakeus"]Super boogie. Sly and a bit funky Excellent ensemble sound! I like it!!!! ![]() ------------------------ Concentrate on tightening up the band, imho, esp. the bass and guitar riffing. Also the lyrics have nothing surprising or sexy in them? ----------------------- I only take the silly risk of offering this advice because I like the sound and imagine from your blurb that you are looking for a record contract and want to be famous. Thanks for having a listen and leaving a comment - I do appreciate constructive crits. I'm not sure you read my blurb too well though - "sexy" "looking for a record contract and want to be famous" are pretty unlikely. Like you, I had a serious musical time in Sydney - more like the first part of the 70s - so you can gather I'm no spring chicken At this stage of my life, this is all about having fun and learning new skills (like singing and playing guitar) rather than anything else.I don't post much here at iComp, but I'll try to be sure I post our band version when it happens. Cheers from the Far South Coast! Neil |

| I watched an early release version of the new US film "Black Swan" last night - about a production of Swan Lake - and this immediately brought me back to the music in the movie. The movie was quite scary (I can't recommend it) but your music here is beautiful. You use the instruments very well to produce a wonderful listening experience. Cheers from Australia, Neil |

| Sounding very good Cees. So iComp is where you hang out then I've been AWOL from iComp for nearly a year, but came back on receiving your comment on Amsterdam. The horns stand out for me on this (what are you using Andy?), but all the tracks sound fantastic - classy recording too. Cheers from Oz, Neil |

| Stan, thanks for visiting my new song - I've been away from iComp for quite a while. I like your voice a lot, and the acoustic instruments too. Harmonies (and indeed the song itself) are terrific. Not sure about the heavy electrics, but that's just me. I have a grand-daughter, Aja, around Arwen's age - aren't grand-kids such a joy! Cheers from Australia. Neil |

| Never been one of my fav Beatle tunes Dave - maybe if they'd done it at this speed I might have warmed to it. Cool rendition. Sorry I've missed a lot of your stuff lately - I just ran out of listening puff I'm afraid. Neil |

| **** CANCER by Trilobite2 | 3 years ago |
| Wonderful tune/lyrics/performance. I think we can all relate to the subject matter in one way or another. I'd love to hear it with better production though - sounds like its been recorded way too loud, to the point where it just all melts together. Maybe that was your plan? Just my observation. A really good song regardless. Neil |

| Very beautiful Bryn, Sarah and Mysti. "Initial Ione vocals recorded acapella over Skype" - um, amazing! This just has such a fine groove, and the production is as good as it gets. Love the bass. Peace, Neil |

![]() Nice panning and well put together Nemo - wirklich gut glaube ich! You could have definitely taken this further with drums, but I kind of like it as it is - very creative use of loops - you seem to have excellent control of them. Neil |

| jdwyer05 - couldn't agree more with your comment re colabs. I've done maybe 10 in the past 12 months, and every time something new happens that makes it worth while. One thing I really miss about working on my own is the way band members (for better or worse) bounce off each other at rehearsals, recording and gigs in real life. Colabs are certainly a way of getting closer to that, but it's not the same as being in the same room. Neil (I must look up ecnicholsIC) |

| Doing The Eggshell Walk by Jiguma | 5 years ago |
| TeddyC - Thanks! Although this was written last year, I am really disappointed that the lyrics are just as appropriate now as they were then (except the numbers are higher!). The balance between vox and guitars is a battle I continue to wage - my latest recordings have had the vox far too high, and maybe I overcompensated on this remix. Cheers, Neil |

| 4arms and jkane - thanks for your comments and the repost of your comments. Fran has been one of my guitar heroes for some time, so I was thrilled that he could play on this. The original sounded good to my ears, but I really wasn't prepared for where Fran would take this. Cheers, Neil |

| Something About the Way by 4arms | 5 years ago |
| Brent - no problems from this end with your voice - sounds good to me. You have a nice way with a lyric and the change of time is a neat trick. One thing I've discovered since I started writing, recording and singing just over a year ago is that there are all sorts of voices out there doing all sorts of interesting things. I'd love to sound like Jack Bruce, but it's unlikely to happen, so I just keep sounding like me. I see no problems with you sounding like you. I'm off to listen to more of your stuff. Neil |
