I Never Loved Anyone
October 15, 2009 | 12:04 am

Not all my work involves totally original compositions -- I also do arranging of existing work coupled with original material. These video performances are at www.youtube.com/joelirwin

The last arrangement I worked on was the song originally made popular by one of the top 40s female vocalists, Jo Stafford called "I Never Loved Anyone" (word & music by Georgia Gibbs originally accompanied by Paul Weston's band). I took the original arrangement and elongated the song by adding a trombone and sax solo in the middle.

Big band is the closest I can come right now to scoring live for a large group of musicians --- about 23 to 26 people across 16 to 18 staffs.
