INFLUENTIAL FORCES:
I LOVE progressive rock and experimental jazz. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, The Residents, Sun Ra, Don Cherry, and Charles Mingus are just a few of the musical pioneers that have made strong impressions on my own style. I also have a softspot for 80's music and Leonard Cohen.
Contemporary COMPOSERS worldwide: the music of Philip Glass, Alfred Schnittke, Astor Piazzolla, Lou Harrison, Terry Riley, Harry Partch, Alan Hovhaness, Jon Leifs, K. Penderecki, E. Rautavaara, Per Norgaard, Stockhausen, Xenakis, & Takashi Yoshimatsu (to name just a few...
) have had a major influence upon my musical approach.
For me, music is all about the endless possibilities of melody, harmony, and dynamic sound expressions. A theme can have a nearly infinite number of variations, you know? That's the wonderous psychedelic jazz of the soul, my friends! My core sensibilities are those of the poet. I try to see the whole picture of human experience: including love and hate, war and peace, light and dark, pleasure and pain, etc. etc.
Justin is 26 years old, and is currently stationed as an ascending mortal of Urantia origin in Arizona, USA. Justin wishes PEACE and LOVE to you ALL!
