| Sometimes the simple things are the most beautiful, like a blues man on a stool with a guitar. This has a nice, live club feel. I imagine some cheesy curtains in the back, a little smoke in the air, some ambient kitchen sounds. | |

| This was terrific. It has the sound of something from a transistor radio in my shirt pocket in 1966. The only downside was that the verses seemed to be put there as an excuse to get back to the chorus, and I think the chorus stands alone in its unapologetic magnificence. On the other hand, maybe you need verses to rest. Whatever, nice deal. | |

| This is indeed pretty cool. As you note, it is rough, too. Some of the loops could have been mixed in a little better. Is that harmonica loop at the beginning in the right key? Seems a little short at this stage, and could use a bridge. This is an auspicious beginning! Keep going! |

| It seems that "experimental" is a way of saying that this is actually art, in the sense of something that creates from the imagination without reference to or permission from the forces of ideology, or commercial authority. (And that's a lot of big words.) It prompts me to reexamine my values and assumptions, not about what constitutes art or music, but about reality itself. Sweet. | |

| I really liked the film, especially parts that were just textural (water, trees, rocks, light and shadow). I found the ducks distracting. My favorite parts were in the opening couple of minutes, the sped-up pictures of rock, woods and water. I think the first song matched the mood of those images better than the other two. Sorry, I can't help with your iMovie issue. |

| Decadence is (The Oyster Song) by KDMan | 2 years ago |
| Yes, I was trying to be clever, putting in a little hidden message, or tribute. That was actually a gift just for you; I'm happy you liked it. Note of interest: I used the ponkey fan-killing technique for the vocal track. The sound might be better than I've been getting from my external mic. Linda suggests I change a few items, and I'd like to get a better grip of the vocals, so I might go again. I was just in a hurry to get in the game before it was over! |

I like this song. I was really looking forward to this first song with vocal harmonies, but was a little disappointed they were so short. You could probably do a lot more (what you did sounded good to me). The structure is pretty pleasing and the playing is good (though I am no expert there). Your lyrics might be improved in a few small ways; for example, ending a line with "can't you see" seems kind of a cheap rhyme. I love the chorus ("there's no way I'd rather spend the night" which is sweet and simple.I didn't intend to go on so much, but after all, you did say "let me know". I guess I did. Feel free to comment on any of my songs. Kd |
