Hahaha, I was trying to hint at the idea of complex outcomes characteristic of real life problems. But as you point out, music, is much more beautiful when observed with a child-like wonder.

The sound sources are wine glasses struck with metal knives.

I'm glad you like it, thanks for listening!

I'm not real familiar with "Ke$ha" what song does this remind you of that she sings? And which girl? (there are two) smiley

I was furious, I had told my housemates to keep the door closed while I recorded, and after 2.5 minutes of flawlessly laying down that piano loop someone opened the door across the room to answer a phone. I was so into the song I didn't hear it ringing, and my temper shot up because I thought they were just blatantly disregarding my request. It's funny to me now.
Silently Watching The Raging Seas by PaulOwenMusic 2 years ago
The levels on the piano and strings are perfect, they both hold their own and create a very unique feeling of punctuation. I don't know about silently watching though, I feel as if I am in the throes of the waves themselves, or a low flying gull watching the peaks jump up at me. Though I guess a gull would probably be silent...

This feels like I'm scavenging in a dark underworld tunnelway with low ceilings and a branching paths. I especially like about 3/4 of the way through when the music slowly fades out. The final crash symbol it great.

Absolutely digipoll! All the pianos I put in my song are real recordings of me playing them. They aren't loops (I think that's what you are asking). The vocals aren't real though, they are a sham created by my keyboard. Unfortunately I haven't learned to sing like that yet.

I've listened to this song at least 4 or 5 times now, and I find myself singing it as I walk around the house now. I absolutely love when the pizzicato strings come it, it's the perfect amount of accompaniment to such a silky hum of a voice.

This is perfect for a cold morning when it's so grey outside that it doesn't really matter what you do, and everything is serene. Thanks again for the wonderful music. I wish I had more specific comments, but this song just flows so smoothly I can't pick it apart.

I still think it's pretty mellow. But I like it that way. I listened to it a number of times.

Not a whole lot in the way of instrumentation, but what is here is good, and I love the repetitive nature of this song. Excellent blend of sounds and smoothness of texture. Great picture.
First Run [Not complete] by Alski 2 years ago
Yeah, doesn't sound bad at all (timing). I agree with Divan, the ending needs to be extended in my opinion. Some of the pauses in between sections seem sort of unnecessary, or maybe just one pause.
Deconstruction by RazbaqueDirge 2 years ago
So does that mean that as we are the gods now, computers make God unnecessary?

Every sound in the drum beat is artful on its own, and the low piano-sounds are awesome in the way they draw me in but make feel slightly uncomfortable . I don't like the high noise as much. But altogether it produces a wonderfully mystic feel that I've never heard the likes of before. Major props for originality!

I can't get enough of this song. 6 stars.

The transition from the synth fill to the main hook is EXCELLENT.

Ragged time baby. Very cool.

The sax bit is great! Also really liked the just bass and dog barking section.

Not as much of a fan of the piano by itself (around 2/3). I would have liked it better if the synth had just come in straight away with the piano.

I am also a bit unsure of the intro. As much as I like the clip, it sounds kind of gimmicky to me, and leads my listener's ear in the wrong direction. As for the structure: I don't want to hear it any other way. And the lack of repetition has enticed me to listen at least 6 times now.

I feel like this song is rooted in a solid soul-found state. It has beauty and almost encourages time to relax its rigid stream. If I were a tree I would want this song to define my branches.

The first thing my brother (Divan) wanted to show me when I got home from being gone for a few weeks was this song. He said it was his favorite song ever. And I know why.

Starting the vocals ambiently almost devoid of major/minor tonality and then dropping the chords right in is always effective, but you make it sound new and original and it makes the audience feel like they just caught on to something special and secret that they can't wait to share. Incidentally that metaphor works I think for the intro and you song in general.
Fusing (DnB Mix 2009) by C_Man 2 years ago
My favorite part is the timbre of the note on the first down beat of every measure, it feels like a note that is pulling me towards a darkness of mind. I also appreciate that song is split in two in a way I've never really considered before. Ever. Major props for being the first at something (at least in my life).

FIRST LISTEN
Vocals are at the same level as the guitar which makes it really hard to hear them in the beginning. Dig your lyrics little bro, except the metric conversion seems a bit silly, don't you think? Or, maybe I'm missing something way deeper.

SECOND LISTEN
Now I'm in the groove I can decipher the lyrics much better. Great groove. Definitely the best song you've written, it's got soul, grit, passion, and it makes me smile. Cannabals are alway good subject matter. This song is hella chill like you said. Jaundiced fingers? Zodiac? Drew what are you reading/watching/learning. I would put this on my "On-the-go" Mix, if I had one. Complimentary bar of soap = love it!!! 6 feet of rope = that's what's up (in an artistic kind of way, NOT in a "that is a good idea" kind of way). I think I'll listen for a third time, but I'll end the comment here.

P.S. I can't wait to show this to my roommates!!!

You know I never noticed that really nice synth break in the middle of the song before. Every time I listen to this song it gets better.

I recorded Le Fleur with rob's condensor through garageband and the practice room piano. Still no work on sphenoid, but I'm down to get together and jam this friday the 27th or saturday the 28th if you're in sonoma county (i'm coming up for thanksgiving).

You are welcome awannabepoet, thank you for listening. I wrote this piece and am the person playing it in the recording, however, your comment makes me think it would be sweet if someone who really played did a version of it! Feel free to collab/cover. I am currently working on some new bits for it; I'll let you know.

Mad skills. Sounds to me like a musical transcription of someone's thought process right before jumping out of a plane or off a huge cliff or something. That is to say: it sounds very climactic.

made of soul by FLTunes 2 years ago
I dig it man! Stayed varied enough to keep me interested and had a lot of nice layering. The drum beat was especially infectious. My favorite moment was somewhere right in the middle before the guitar (I think) came in and the music cut out for a split second and there was a few beats with a cymbal bell: Loved that!

The beginning didn't grab me and I almost bailed. But once the vocals came in it seemed to work much better. By the end I was diggin it.

Definitely feels "lunar." Dug the section about 2/3s thru, and liked that noise at end. Didn't really understand the harmony in the beginning section. Maybe I'm not a moon man...
