I've done similar, except I end up with an "r" in my text editor or browser window because I didn't bring GB foremost. But if it happened to you at least we know it happens to the best of us.  |

| Wanna just let me go crazy? I'll figure some way to mash a couple of your guys' songs together and put at least a few words in there, if not a full sentence or two. I dunno. lol I'm feelin' the electro-swing-dub style, but I don't think I'd be able to carry the whole way through. It depends though. My grumbly vox would probably mesh in some parts, but tossing in a couple vocal samples doesn't make a song that much cooler... That said, I can say things like "Restricted Entry, Access Denied" and it can easily sound freakishly awesome. If we can narrow it to something simple like that then I could send samples quick-like and you guys could play around. Then you send me what you come up with and let me think on verses...toss ideas and previews backways and tofro until we can agree on a final mix...? (oh, if you're keeping score, I embedded "Restricted Entry, Access Denied" in Back Bass the day after Phantome posted Et si un jour...and then I quickly forgot I sunk it in there...my bad) |

| Can you be more specific? What parts do you want to do and what do you need? Leaning toward..reggae?, punk?, hip-hop?,...? Just curious. Gimme a peak at some point and I might have an idea and vocal bits. I can do a couple voices/vox styles, I guess, and can tap at least one family member w/ a distinctive sound. |

| If you have a flash/external drive you can try putting your current GB project on that. Then when you lock tracks the files (AIFFs) will come from that drive, rather than from the slower internal drive. The slower internal drive is also the "swap", by default, which means when you run out of RAM there's extra reading/writing happening. I have a very similar system, a 2.16Hz C2D with 1GB of RAM and GB 3.0.5, but I put my projects on an external 7200rpm drive. |

| You can use BBCode on your profile, so you could group and link things manually. I know there's an artist on here that does that for their music, but I can't remember who it is. Rather than have the standard music list, they grouped their songs and put in their own links. | |

| You can adjust more than one slider at a time which can make working with the 31 band EQ a little easier.... Click just to the side of a slider, so the value doesn't change but it gets selected, and hold and drag the selection out to include the sliders you want. |

| I've run across a couple mp3s that won't play on-site, via quicktime. It appears to load the song(s), but when I press play no sound comes out and it directs me to install a quicktime plugin. If I download those songs instead, they play in iTunes just fine and appear to be standard mp3s. Songs that are missing the file extension don't seem to play either. There's a few of those around. The couple I downloaded worked just fine in iTunes once I'd added the "mp3" file extension. |

| It's not just Google, it's other much smaller sites as well. I think the issue here is partly due to the latency of my connection. If the icomp server has an aggressive timeout then it could be dropping the connection because my system has trouble responding in time to get the confirmation page. My ping to google.com took 1.3secs. To icompositions.com took 1.5secs. That's pretty normal for my connection - the latency is worse than dialup, but the up/down speed is basically the same as 802.11b. I bet every time I hit that upload button the file actually makes it to the server but it gets tossed because I can't respond fast enough to get the confirmation page. That's my theory, anyway. |

| I was just trying to upload a 3MB mp3 so I doubt the size or number matter. Sometimes it goes first try. Sometimes it goes some number of tries later. Once it finally goes it's plenty fast. I dunno |

| What gets me is I never have problems anywhere else. I dunno what the issue is but it's not on my end. I uploaded some youtube vids the other day and they all went first try. I upload pics and whatnot to a couple other sites every so often and it always works. I can upload to gmail every time, etc. I'm just trying to upload a 3MB song... I hit upload and wait 10mins. Nadda. Try again and again. Now I've wasted 30 minutes on something that should've taken 3. Imagine that stretched over the whole day. I can literally waste 12 hours just trying to upload a single song. I don't surf in another tab just in case it affects the chances of the upload working.  |

| Tried to upload a song last night and gave up after a few tries. Tried at least 10 times today and no dice. Such a waste of time and effort. What's really frustrating is I know that when it finally decides to work, it'll only take a couple minutes. Why doesn't it work the first time I send the form? Still requesting a progress bar. |

| I sent the file to myself on gmail as a test and had it uploaded and downloaded in 5 minutes or so. I spent 2 hours trying to upload it here and still no go. The only thing I can think of is if the icomp server has an aggressive timeout. I'm on a satellite connection so the latency is pretty high but otherwise it's pretty quick. I bet most people that never have problems here are on DSL or cable. edit; worked when I tried 5mins later, go figure. |

| Tried iCab and Firefox and neither shows any kind of upload progress. Both fail within a reasonable-ish amount of time which is better than Safari, which will sit there all day it seems. What's weird is I have no problems on other sites. Uploading large attachments to gmail works every time. I just tried and failed about 6 times here so thought maybe it was my connection...nope, gmail took it first try and the progress showed up right away. Frustrating. |

| Safari doesn't show the real progress, unfortunately. At least not in the version I'm using. It says, "contacting icompositions..." and the progress bar doesn't move from the minimum until the upload is complete. It doesn't appear in the Activity window either. I know gmail shows a progress for attachment uploads which makes it easy to see whether or not anything is happening. I guess I'll try a different browser next time. |

| Is there any way icomp could add a progress bar so we can more easily monitor the progress of uploads? I know gmail has one so it has to be possible - not necessarily easy, but possible. I'm on a satellite connection so sometimes it's a little dodgy and with no way to know if the file even started I have to wait /some amount of time/ and then retry if it hasn't finished. tia |
