![]() Love the atmosphere on this one, but it seems a little glitchy in places, perhaps due to upload errors? Over all, very good! =M= |

| Since this is what I presume to be a demo, I'll reserve final judgment for the final product, but my criticisms for this is that it seems rather disconnected and aimless. You've got basically a couple of different heavily distorted guitars, playing what seems like unrelated riffs, with no identifiable tempo and no payoff. Maybe with vocals, bass and drums, it will be a winner. |

![]() Another amazing production, Shred! My only criticism would be that the bass and drums need to be brought up more--they seem too much into the background. Otherwise, top notch! =M= |

![]() Best production work yet, Shred! I think the dramatic suits you. =M= |

![]() Well, I think it's your tightest performance for sure, but I don't want to knock your other work, which is fantastic. Definitely a talent that I've overlooked here on iComp. I love the arangements--the light-but-effective approach shows how much I tend to over-think my own compositions. Are you playing all intstruments? =M= |

| Jobu, Thanks for the kind words. I had a lot of fun writing this for the contest, and that's reward enough for me. As for the instruments, yes--I play all instruments except for the drums, which are provided by Beta Monkey Music. =M= |

![]() Is this recorded on a Casio keyboard? Sounds like something I heard on a Nintendo video game back in '88. |

![]() Excellent use of loops! Very emotional, but I am a bit distracted by the beat--might sound better without, or with something less distracting--a shaker, perhaps? Dunno, but I love it! Michael |

![]() A very good cover of what is perhaps one of my favorite Satriani songs. I especially like your tone--pretty much dead on. Excellent work! Michael |

| KILL MY T.V. by Jericho7 | 2 years ago |
| While I definitely like the song, I hesitate to give a rating, because it was recorded in a professional studio. I thought that iComp was dedicated to people who record at home using Apple's GarageBand or similar programs, not to professionally recorded, mixed and mastered music. Still, the song is great! ![]() Great song--good guitar work. Also like the vocals, but they need to be a little more out front--they sound a little "muddy" to me. Otherwise, great composition! Michael |

![]() As good, or better than anything I've heard on the radio these days, for certain. You've got a great voice, and your production is top notch, though I like my songs a bit more rockin'! You're definitely going on my favorites, though. Great work! Michael |

| Thanks for the comments, Bob6s! I had been tinkering with the chord progression for some time, but when I saw the ultrasounds of my unborn child for the first time, the melody came to me as I saw him "swimming" around, and I tried to capture that feeling--not sure if I was successful. Believe it or not, the bassline was done using an acoustic guitar! I had no bass at the time, and I didn't like the results of plinking out a MIDI bass, or of using GB to tune down a standard guitar 2 octaves ( I did that on my rendition of "Apache!", and it sounds like crap). I plugged in my acoustic, boosted the bass, and plucked it as hard as I could without breaking the strings. I was pleasantly surprised at the good results. I plan on purchasing an inexpensive preamp for recording my acoustic in the future--thanks for everyone who gave comments/advice! Macgawd |

| TORTURE by cyberian | 2 years ago |
| I was going to list cyberian as a favorite--until I heard this. Not because I voted for Bush (twice), and not because you don't like Bush. It's because of the attitude that anyone who DOES likes W is an ignorant fascist. I guess the only good president is one who does absolutely nothing for 8 years, like Clinton. Macgawd |

| Somewhere East by guitarlesson | 2 years ago |
![]() Yanni!? I don't think so. If I had to guess an influence, it would definitely be Satriani. In that regard, this song is excellent--definitely going to go in my favorites pile! Great job! |

| Apache! by Macgawd | 2 years ago |
| Matt, Man, I wish I had a big Marshall stack! Actually, it's played through a little 30w Legend tube amp, with an old Zoom 9002 multi-effects processor. Michael |
|
| Apache! by Macgawd | 2 years ago |
| Yeah, the original was instrumental as well. I was inspired to cover this after seeing a cheesy video from the 80's by a Norwegian band called the Seebach Band--they did a 20-minute synth-filled rendition, and the video just makes you go wtf! Michael |
