@BossHook: Dang! Thanks! It was real nice to get into a studio again after all these years. Outside of Punk Floyd, it's been seven years since I took a song of my own in.

@JD: I'm finding it fun listen to the latest batch of stuff up here. Glad to see it's still going.
Brenda (You've Changed Your Name) by Matt Granz 2 years ago
@zefif: I'm my happiest as I write a song. I was especially happy with this one because it all came at once. I like an edge and that's what you are probably hearing. Even my love ballads have an edge. I think I crave the edge.
Brenda (You've Changed Your Name) by Matt Granz 2 years ago
@borris: Like yeah, Like wow, I can see it, yeah. The d and the n and the configurations. Trippy. Now I'm hungry for Bread. Nah! Good to see you here. The clown prince of cool at iComp. I wholly dig you man.
Brenda (You've Changed Your Name) by Matt Granz 2 years ago
@artnero: Glad to be back. I'm a little disappointed at iCompositions in it's current state. Still will share here. I have another song in the process. Hopefully I will be able to show it off soon.
Brenda (You've Changed Your Name) by Matt Granz 2 years ago
@KeithPetrower: Well, my main change is that I hardly record anything any more. That said, I'm trying to change it. Fun being back in a real studio. My engineer has ears that go for miles. Interesting, your reference. I was going For Ray Davies, but now can hear your Scott Weiland now that you've said it. Basically, I'm just trying to essentially stay in tune is all.

Brenda (You've Changed Your Name) by Matt Granz 2 years ago
@sammydix: Yeah, I've been focusing on my photography profession, so the music took a bit of a backseat. My iMac also died and I decided to go PC (I know) so I no longer have GarageBand. I now however have a little money to get into the studio with and show everyone that not everything I do is lo-fi. The last thing I posted to iComp was with the Longlines two years ago. Yeah, it's been a while.

@that80sboy: You may dedicate this to your friend. I think you may have heard this somewhere else. Some place that has a face and a book?

@KCsGROOVE: Glad you enjoy it. There's always more room for cowbell.
Brenda (You've Changed Your Name) by Matt Granz 2 years ago
@becwil: Thanks! Still the same old me, only now a bit more hi fi and with real drums.
Brenda (You've Changed Your Name) by Matt Granz 2 years ago
@Dyl: Yeah, ten freaking years! Where has the time gone? I wanted to get this song into a studio immediately back then. The plans of mice and men. It's almost four years since I uploaded a song here. I have another one in the works. Hopefully it will post soon.
Brenda (You've Changed Your Name) by Matt Granz 2 years ago
@vaporman: Yes, always good to have more cowbell. Funny thing is, the only influence I can hear in this for melody, production, attack and content is the Kinks. I like your list however, and others on another website have quoted the same.

Bummer for all of us borris, you played the keyboards on the track, remember? It's okay, the music industry is sorta like the hollywood scene. They get ya all excited then forget what it was as they get excited about other things. Was a fun ride.

Seven Deadly Sins (Original Demo) by DaveM 6 years ago
I really can't imagine another person doing this song with any more soul, spirit and intensity than you are here. The guitar work is outta this world. The recording in and of itself sounds great. A good balance going on. The song has ended and the melody is stuck in my head. That's the sign of a sure winner. Best of luck on the radio interview. I did one way back in the early 90's and it was hecka fun.

If you ever want to electrify this, I would dig doing some bass and lead guitar work for you.
