You're quite in tune with your daughter! If my girls weren't sleeping right now, they'd be twirling their little princess selves around in circles. Kristy, this is just plain fun and imaginative. Thank you so much for nudging me over here! I've heard some of your songs on the other site... wanted to let you know that since I rarely have time to leave thoughtful comments (single mothering twins will do that to you) smiley I have some more catching up to do on your music!

When the percussion loop began the song, I was expecting something very different than what I heard. It's almost borderline trip-hop sounding, the percussion, that is. It's got that little 16th note thing happening, so I prepared myself for something bouncy and fun. But what revealed itself is a remarkably beautiful melody, carried by the E. piano and transmitted via your soulful vocals. I wanted to make out the vocals, though they're artfully done. The chorus is the highlight of this, as I'm sure you'll agree because you sing them with a fervent strength... almost tearful. Gosh this is lovely and that ain't no sunshine. I 'felt' this.

What a completely unexpected but alchemistic collaboration! Wow. Never thought I hear such a combination that kept me utterly glued to my earbuds. great production and mix. Hints of Euphoria with that slide guitar, Bill. Great, fresh soundscape!

Rockin! I hope I'm not making you feel old here... but my dad was a surf rocker in his day, and his band has some songs on an album called Surfin' in the Midwest (kinda funny, eh?) -- You music, to me, has such a happy nostalgic feeling because it reminds me of my dad's happy moments reminiscing about his band days. Some of the licks in this song remind me on a song my dad used to play for me. I think it's called "Apache", but I can't remember who recorded it. I'm sure you know it. It's been covered a few times since. Anyhow, this is wonderful stuff!

Drak, this really floors me! Your improvement since I've known you is just immeasurable. The thing I absolutely adore about your stuff is that you make no quams (<--how do you spell that word?) about being a "learner"... and from that comes these wonderfully simple yet FULL tunes! It's something I just can't do! The harmonies in this song are unexpected--and that's a good thing. You know... one of these days I WILL play the violin part for you. I need find a good way to record the darn thing. This is, in my opinion, your best. I wonder what you could do if you took this melody/harmony and turned it into something New Age, or Electronic. Hmm... now I'm thinking.... Great, great work, my friend.

Wow, I just had a flashback to childhood. Very sweet, fond memories of "Ghostwriters". My dad used to play this for me when I was really young. I have visions of him teaching it to me on piano and we'd play it in a duet. Some of my best memories of my dad, actually. I just love this and I'm so glad I stumbled across this gem. Nice playing and adding strings/choral/percussion!
