Welcome to iComp and congratulations on this fine debut. Awesomely awesome. smiley
Atonement by PaulFPage 11 months ago
This oozes passion and professionalism. You've created a perfect balance between the piano and strings that easily got me into a melancholy mood. Haven't seen Atonement yet, but of course already have plans to. If it's as moving as you describe, all the better! The way I see it, if there were no sadness in our lives there'd be no happiness either. I'm grateful for both.

This pulled me in quite easily. I felt like going to a late-night open-aired tropical lounge. smiley Excellent!

P.S.: I hope Mary's trip to Barbados was worth it. Awesome place.

Wow... so many comments, I'd feel bad not to comment myself. Anyway, the music's admittedly awesome and latin music's always appealing. I've got a smile on my face. smiley

Very groovy indeed. I'd say it was "beautifully unpolished", though, because this music is simply too charming to be ignored. Congrats!

Very peaceful and somewhat relaxing. The oboe and choir make a very good couple. smiley
Room Service (Youkali demo) by becwil 11 months ago
This was quite surprising, since I haven't listened to the previous Youkali installments. Who doesn't love a tango? smiley The poem was fun, and that's saying a lot because I've never been a fan of poetry.

Good music, but a little unpleasant, especially due to the song's title. Main guitar riff was cool, though.

It's really easy to admire something like this; it shows hard work, commitment and because it's actually difficult to make something funny and genuinely happy. I could rant for ages, but I'll spare you all torture. Congrats!

Wow, excellent soulful music. I'm a sucker for moody stuff like this... it always gets me thinking about this and that, but I'm always sad when it's over. Thanks!

Slow but intense and thoughtful. I couldn't help looking out the window of my room and at space. It's so big it's dizzying. smiley Cool picture from Close Encounters of the Third Kind... classic movie!

Excellent pairing of guitar and strings, always a great combination. Bass helped flesh out the music, and overall just a great piece. Loved how the pace picked up halfway through.

Nice! I've always liked this kind of laid-back, guitar-driven ambient music, and yours is great. As for the constructive criticism you've asked for... I honestly don't have any. But maybe it could've been longer!

Final Fantasy VII - Ahead On Our Way (Piano Collections) by Aafarr2 1 year ago

Lovely rendition of Uematsu's classic. I own the Piano Collections album of FFVII and am very familiar with this piece (and I'll admit I feel a certain special fondness toward it, but that story's too long) and can understand how it must've been difficult to learn! Great job, congratulations.

Wow, cool little symphony, great film music. My favorite section was the brutal action part, but then the heartwarming strings and piano gave it a genle close. My only gripe is that it's too short!

PoP Goes the Symphony (re-post) by ShadowofNine 1 year ago

Great piece. What stood out for me was how you blend orchestral instruments with modern electrics. My only *very minor* complaint is that the strings could've been a little louder in some sections. Otherwise, very nice!
