Wow! Full bodied production! Expressive piano playing, and gorgeous singing. Very much enjoyed! The synth and erratic percussion are seemingly incongruous yet highly effective components in the mix! Loved it!

Gorgeous Rob! Fragile guitar work and singing is really expressive. Love the glitchy clicks and static noise in the background... it really interfaces well with the composition in general. Well done!

Jaw droppingly good as usual. Erratic, dense and abrasive - yet still holds together somehow! How the **** do you do this? I don't know. Your a magician. I believe you are one of the most original and compelling artists I have heard on Icomp
Doldrums by pharmakeus 6 months ago
Great tune Chris. This is truely a thrilling and stimulating fusion of scintillating textures. While recalling electronic sounds from earlier decades this composition remains fervently modern through its precarious and slightly dismantled structure. Like your choice of the Turner painting suggests, this tune frames a similarly amorphous and tumultuous space which engulfs the listener. Well done!

These one take wonders of yours never get old! A gorgeous performance all round. Your voice connects straight with the heart. Yup I'm pretty much obsessed with your voice Dylan - it has the perfect balance of authority and frail, fallible inflection.

Yeh this is great dude! This kind of stripped back minimalism really suits the fragility and subtle inflection of your voice. Highly effective use of found sound in the background, and distant murmurings of lead guitar and harmonica. Best song I've heard on here in a while!

Thanks for the feedback - at the moment there is no plan on playing this song live. We simply wanted to jam the song out a bit before recording it (a different approach than usual for us).
The percussion loop was just something to jam to and will definately be changed later - while sounding like a ride it is in fact a cooking pot hence the tinny tone. A rock format (with drummer and bass player) is not a trajectory we want to follow anymore. Thanks for listening

This is brilliant Et - so nuanced and full of frail, human inflection. The meandering guitar line compliments the amorphous vocals stylings perfectly. I love how you take great liberties with the songs original melody - it really works well

Wow great track my friend. This has an idiosyncratic and flowing structure which I really like - you never know what to expect - a beautiful tapestry of sound. The keys are tastefully restrained, the strings pull the tune in interesting directions and the bells are the perfect counterpart to the melodic structure.

This is amazing Justin! These voices are the perfect counterpart to your musical explorations. All the elements are situated with throughtful precision in this mix that truely is greater than the sum of its parts. You have a fascinating way of blending instrumentation that avoids enticing the listener to gravitate towards a particular sound, but rather encourages the comprehension of the total effect - a magical effect, transcending sonic details and technicalities. The meandering melodic lines weave in and out of throbbing drones that innovatively evoke images of illumination and spiritual transformation while avoiding the contrivance associated with "new age" tonalities.

Undoubtedly a masterpiece my friend - you mix art and heart like no other!

I'm not gonna delve into political dialogue here as it looks like the others have covered this comprehensively.

This is a dense web of sparkling and scintillating harpisichord magic. So many tasteful changes and juxtapositions. Your signature style is here - jittery notes and liberties with time metres - however the scaled back track count gives ample space for the harpsichord to breathe and shine. The playing here is top notch in a restrained and delicate fashion - a wise avoidance of anything too showy or virtuoso

I will have to listen to this again! Brilliant!

Excellent Justin! Sorry it took me a while to get to this! You really conjure up astronomically epic compositions on that Korg of yours! Not only does this emotionally overwhelm but also intellectually engage and astound.

Well on to the music.... I found this arrangment to be highly evocative. The organ is humanized into a disconcerting wail in the intro before being torn apart by a yearning dissonance and faltering time signatures. The cannon-fire drums signal the apex of this aggressive climb after which these tendencies give way to a mournful resignation of bells that emerge dramatically from the droning landscape. Where the beginning seemed predicated on primal ambition the ending is far removed from base impulses and is concerned with a quiet reflection. The outro is profound here - the percussive bells receding into the gentle ebb and flow of lapping water.

Your painting pictures with sound Justin and I LOVE it!

Man the production on this is killer. Dense and lush arrangement here with flawless transitions - always unexpected but highly effective. Cool to hear you busting out a bit of synth.. the expanded palette of sounds provides tons of aural interest! Riveting the whole way through - I love how the song progresses from edgy and angular guitar chords to a meditative outro. Good job!

I like how this is in the holiday category smiley

Well Justin you have woven a scintillating masterpiece here! As missred says, this is very intense... with gushes and bursts of sounds bound in lethal directions. And just when you think the song is as splendidly fractured as it could get it halts only to unleash a bombardment of tribal toms and short circuiting synth. The ending is fantastic swapping between locked grooves and assymetric patterns. I think I feel where your coming from with the experimental dance concept.... believe it or not I had a boogie listening to this! Exemplary my friend!

I dug this Rob - sounds like somewhat of a departure for you. You have taken a risk and pulled it off exceptionally well in my opinion. This is a very well integrated blend of ambient sounds and guitar work. The background voice is very effective in grounding the composition as the other sonic delights shift and morph around it. In terms of mood, I found this to be quite disturbing and disconcerting - but thats a good thing. Edgy!
