Yeh! Love it. Scintillating colors and textures. Wish I had your sequencing skills man. Superbly mixed and produced, but never becomes simply an exercise in technical prowess - this tune breathes and incites the listener to apprehend its organic gestalt. Very nice

Abrasive and incisive. Visceral, galloping stuff. Very cool! I kind of extrapolated this one out in my mind and think it could be a real golden track. The bendy synth line is the perfect counterpart to the pounding drums and howling guitar.

Really loved this man! Lyrically, I assent, you are traversing some pretty colossal social/artistic/philosophical concepts and currents; however you undertake this with an ironic bite and somewhat sardonic sentiment which is highly compelling to my ears. This would have Mondrian cackling in his coffin. You channel the whimsical ambience of Syd Barrets solo output with the meandering, stream of consciousness torrent or 60's Dylan to exceptional effect. The song has a great groove, complimented by an impressively rich vocal delivery. Very, very impressed man. I'm gonna have to check out some of your other stuff.

Wow. This had me riveted from the outset - though I am, truth be told, an unapologetic sucker for bells.

The hypnotic glockenspiel motif that spearheads this composition is the perfect prelude to the found-sound textures that seep into the mix. As the bells lapse into sinuous reverse effects the nostalgia-evoking sounds of kids bantering provides the perfect counterpoint to the chiming tonalities.

All in all this track exhibits an audacious yet austere fascination with the small nuances of aural effects. A transcendental listening experience mate. Well done!

I really like this man, incisive and meditative simultaneously.

Ostensibly very simple while belying an intricate structure, the composition is beautifully underpinned by the hypnotic piano motif and propulsive percussion allowing the other delicious textures to swirl, morph and coalesce into something quite cathartic.

Very nice my friend.

Gorgeous Dylan! A mesmeric ambience always suffuses these 'single mic' recordings of yours. The unison of plaintive vocals and acerbic acoustic picking are as vivid and mutually enhancing as the juxtaposition of hues in the picture you selected. Loved it old man!

Boring in C Major for the String Quartet by PurePerversity 2 years ago
Glad you liked it Helene. The beat is a floor tom with a bit of tambourine. The instrumentation is predominantly autoharp and dulcimer, switching to acoustic guitar + synth towards the end. On top of this there are a few samples of smashing glass, cracking wood, a buddhist mantra, violins and church bells. I think that is about it

Fantastic Justin! As always, a captivating and unique bricolage of juxtaposed textures and found-sounds supplemented with your trademark melodic inscriptions.

I registered a musical tendency even more erratic and uninhibited than what I've previously encountered within your oeuvre - from the oppressive bass to the rasping synth textures, reversed sounds and glitchy cymbal torrents that puncture the composition so perfectly, moulding the songs rather nebulous structure into some semblance of musical appeal.

The track traverses a stunningly comprehensive gamut of moods and highlights what I've always found so appealing in your music and practice - the musics expressive immediacy dovetails so fluently with an exploratory integrity and theoretical sophistication, never sounding trite or submitting to some pre-existing framework.

A superlative track my friend, well done indeed!

Wow, what a visionary and synergistic synthesis of sounds! This was a true delight and highly efficacious foray into sonic alchemy - there is something distinctly carnal simmering behind the electronic smokescreen of this composition. There is SO much going on in the mix, always teetering on the brink of collapse into amorphous clutter, yet the integral melodic and textural motifs are consistently highlighted and bolstered by means of masterful mixing. Exemplary!

Wow dude, the tuning sounds fantastic! Good work formulating that one. Pensively ruminative this song exudes pathos. I notice an earlier listener made a comment about the vocal effect, in my opinion the amount of reverb/echo you have on the vocal track really works to this songs advantage. Great job man!
