| My initial thoughts when I heard this was that it sounded like it could have been a track that the Grateful Dead meant to include on Blues for Allah. The guitar work is nothing short of AMAZING. Absolutely fantastic! I love the groove that the track has, but even more so, I love how far out you guys took this. Absolutely TREMENDOUS work! | |

![]() you know, even under the weather, you sing brilliantly. I think there are people who would consider it a stunning success to be able to sing as well as you do here, which is even more brain-bending considering the circumstances it was recorded under! Love this! |

| right on man! Thanks for having the bravery to comment first! LOL this is indeed a joke song. We were trying to be heavy handed and obnoxious- well maybe not TRYING per se- it just happened I suppose. We're working on a whole disc of it, but I'm not sure people will like us when we're done though! thanks again man! |

| The Dream Resumes by signorina_oscurata | 3 years ago |
| I really enjoyed the multi-part vocal sound you had going on here. I definitely would be at a loss to try to pigeon-hole a tune like this and maybe that's the point. I think it did come across very successfully as a cool sonic landscape of sorts. I'd love to hear some more instrumentation built in here- maybe found sounds or something like that would be cool too. I think you sounded more confident in your voice here though, and it really sounds great! | |

| hmmm... consensus seems to be to nix the sound effects. I'll give it a go and see how it sounds without em. I totally appreciate the feedback though! HONEST feedback and being cool enough to say "this doesn't work" is the key to improving, so thank you Rusti and Pharm for that! If it sounds better, I'll throw up the "Leaving Green Bay" or should I call it the Brett Farvre(?) remix. | |
| Open Wide II by vegetal | 3 years ago |
| this has a very cool retro vibe to it but doesn't sound dated at all. I could hear it on a Breakfast Club soundtrack, but it would have been the track that was way ahead of it's time at the time. I really dig it! | |
| When Summer Laid To Rest by Rusticalia | 3 years ago |
![]() This would definitely stand solidly on it's own, but I have to admit that it would sound really cool with either strings or a recorder- I'd love to hear MissRedd have at it on this with the flute- you guys had a great collab before if I'm not mistaken. Either way, awesome tune. |

| Babe I'm Gonna Leave You (Led Zeppelin cover) by LaFayette | 3 years ago |
| This is one of their greatest and IMO most overlooked songs ever. I love the instrumentation on the vocal melody here- it has a feel of David Gilmour reinterpreting a great Zeppelin tune and the effect works brilliantly! Great stuff man! | |
| Balancing Act by Rusticalia | 3 years ago |
![]() I'm going to sound like a broken record here, but this is really great stuff. I really like the full sound that you get from an acoustic guitar and I dug arpeggios. The guitar and piano can be so similar, and hearing those arpeggiated (is that a word?!) really did make me think of a piano. If I remember correctly, you use a Snowball mic, do you use it for everything or just the guitar? Either way, great tune. (not surprised by that at all though) |
|
| Storm On The Horizonline by Venturesguitar | 3 years ago |
![]() All I can say is: great tune, great sentiment, great message, great guitar work, and great singing! This is really outstanding stuff. I really dug the change on the "I've seen wild boys.." part. If you haven't, I'd suggest checking out Tom Morello's One Man Revolution disc- modern folk with a great message and some fight behind it just like I hear here. Cheers |

![]() Not a lot of music makes me giggle quite like this did, but this took an implied John Williams melody and just went out of control zany with it. The evil laugh is so merited, but it really worked strangely well- the smoke on the water part might have made me snort coffee out my nose.. THANKS! lol Amazing Grace almost killed me too. Great great stuff! This is a keeper for sure! ![]() |

| The Uneasy Ballad by JackFancy | 3 years ago |
![]() very very cool track. The guitar work is really cool, and I love the repeated theme you have going on. The echo guitar part is awesome. This has a subdued sound, but subdued in the way of tension waiting to blast out at someone or something, and that's cool. I also like the cover work! Reminded me of a few Sex Pistols bootlegs, so immediately cool. |
|
| {I Fell Down} the Linden Tree by pharmakeus | 3 years ago |
| Maybe it's because I'm primarily a guitar player, I found that while the whole track is really awesome, the guitar work really stands out. Not just in terms of the playing, but of the placement of what sounded like at least 3 distinct parts in the mix. I really dug the heavy "guitar in space" sound that you had going on sporadically (I noticed it behind the words "so beautiful." Really killer tune man! |
|
| Selah by Rusticalia | 3 years ago |
| not surprisingly, the guitar work is top notch. I really dig this. Flute would sound good, but strings would be phenomenal with this! (not that it isn't awesome already)- hey are you doing anything more with Low Flying Planes? I really love that tune. | |
| Bright All Night (W/ Strings) by LittlePaperFlags | 3 years ago |
![]() Definitely hearing Deathcab here too. I think the repeating synth pattern made me think a little bit of What Sarah Said. Not sure why- probably associative somehow, but anyway, very cool track. I love the dynamics you have going on as well. |

![]() As always, the guitar playing is great, and I really love the bright clean sound you get. (I need the 411 on how you do that!!) But strings really add a cool tension to the track. Very very cool stuff! |

| Hooked On You by Venturesguitar | 3 years ago |
![]() You know the band might add to it, but I really dig it the way it is! The solo riff totally reminded me of a Velvet Underground riff and since they're one of my favorite bands, that's AWESOME! As someone that's constantly effed up over a girl, this tune definitely says it and says it well! Awesome work! |

| Gamma Ray Burst (Cliffs of Dover) by RadioRebelde | 3 years ago |
Right on man! You guys are way too kind! I felt like when I did the tune originally that there was more potential there, and hopefully I got it there. So it seems from the reactions that I'm getting to these tunes that the acoustic sound is better. What do you guys think? Thank you again though seriously! ![]() |
|
| Gamma Ray Burst (Cliffs of Dover) by RadioRebelde | 3 years ago |
| Thanks man! I was wondering if the atmospheric guitar should have been brought back into it and I still could. I wasn't sure how strong it was, but I could definitely bring it back. If anyone knows how to kill that hiss, I am totally all ears on it. The reason I re-recorded it was that I didn't like the vocal performance and I lost the original garageband file to a hard drive format, so I had to start again. Thanks very much though! This one came from the depths of existential crisis, and that (oddly enough) seems to be where my best work comes from. heh which kinda sucks! |
|
| Gamma Ray Burst (Cliffs of Dover) by RadioRebelde | 3 years ago |
| You guys are awesome! Thank you both! I really feel like the acoustic sound is where I feel most comfortable- it's a lot of your work Rusti that reminded me that you can do a ton with an acoustic guitar, so thanks for that! I should point out that if I sounded beat-down on that recording, I was on the tail end of an all nighter to fix my sleep schedule, so I was borderline delirious. Good time! |

![]() yo man, love the delivery, the playing, and of course the message. Regardless of our perspective, I suppose we're all trapped in this seemingly endless cycle of madness feeding our egos, feeding our mad behavior and abiding anxieties (most notoriously greed) and creating more madness in the process. All great sages, thinkers, and Prophets have urged humanity to break free of this cycle. When will we learn eh? Great tune! |

![]() I really love the inventiveness of your progressions. This definitely is a super chill and soothing piece of music. I could hear strings working well here- specifically cello. I'm not sure if anyone here plays dulcimer, but I know a guy on MacJams called Dreadmon does and he's amazing. (I don't know if it's cool to mention another site, but he's a really cool guy and a very talented musician). Like I said though, I could definitely hear cello or another string instrument working really well- you've laid one hell of a great guitar part down for someone to play over. Great stuff! |

| I've Just Seen a Face by RyanTravis | 3 years ago |
![]() This is GREAT! It's a very earthy take on a classic (extra points for doing a track off the UK version of Rubber Soul!) I absolutely love the 12 string playing, and I think the vocal delivery is fantastic. Do I hear slide in the background? I dug the harmonics too. Fantastic effort! I'm not really a huge Beatles fan, so this grabbing me speaks to how well you made it your own. Thanks for sharing! cheers |

| Heartbreak Blues by pharmakeus | 3 years ago |
| Hell yes!!! Man you guys owned the style right here. Where do I start? The bass line was pure butter, and I loved the piano playing here. I definitely hear Jimmy Page a bit, but I hear Jimmy Page's influences more. The slide and the harp really set this off though. Great soulful harp playing. Think I hear some Little Walter going on there! Fantastic work gents! | |
| Volcano King by Justin_Case | 3 years ago |
![]() This is INTENSE!!! I really like the background sounds- was that machine gun sounds I heard? I only wish this whole thing was just a movie, but sadly, no twisted mind could make up what this warmonger and his creepy cronies and bought off or deluded supporters (or accomplices) have perpetuated or tolerated. And they have the nerve to talk of freedom, compassion, and virtue, all while they profit of murder. This really is savagely effective but elegant and eloquent in getting there. well done indeed! rr |

| Rusted Tractor on Route 2 (final) by Rusticalia | 3 years ago |
![]() Right on! Those guitars really jump out at you! That's awesome. I really dig the addition of the flute and the piano. This is definitely a brave subject to tackle, but I don't pick up any heavy-handedness in the tone of how it's addressed at all. But I digress. The music really is stellar, and the new additions took it in a direction I hadn't expected, which is cool. Excellent work. |
|
| The Paradox Lovers by Justin_Case | 3 years ago |
![]() In a word: whoah! I absolutely love the compositional technique and savvy you've applied here- there is a very definite tension that builds throughout what I can only describe as a sonic odyssey. It starts off reminding me of pink floyd and ends with a very mysterious scene- I might have thought of Louis Carol, but a Delphic scene is very fitting. Is this part of a larger work? It's really very mind-blowing stuff, and the compositional choices that underlie it really set this apart. Excellent work! |

| Walk Away by zallaz | 3 years ago |
![]() Very much enjoyed. I really dug the vibe you guys put together. The vocals are great, and I loved the driving bassline. Sad that we all probably can relate to something like this at one time or another in our lives. You get near them and they just walk away. But if you can make a great tune out of it, it's not a loss at all. Great great stuff. |

| Respiro (I Breathe) by xavoblues | 3 years ago |
![]() In word: AMAZING!! I'm a sucker for the Flamenco sound. The playing is fantastic, and how can you not love lyrics like that with such a beautiful voice singing them! Her voice reminds me a bit of a recording of Hasta Siempre Che Guevara that Soledad Bravo did. This is going straight to the iPod!! |
|
| Puercos (Pigs) by xavoblues | 3 years ago |
![]() I'm trying to remember - was it Gutierrez at the time? That was really a despicable move- nothing like pulling off a massive heist from the highest office in the land. Correa MUST be an improvement! Anyway, this is an AWESOME rocker. Politically sensitive, seething with righteous anger, and honestly, it'd be a great soundtrack to smash things up to. I really dug it! Great playing, great production, and great sentiment! |

| Song For A Brave NEW World by LikeMinds | 3 years ago |
![]() ATTENTION OTHER PEOPLE ON iCOMPOSITIONS: you need to be freaking out over this song because it's AWESOME! I'm not terribly knowledgeable about fusion and modern jazz experimentation, but this track is really an awesome creation. You've really come up with a sound that pushes boundaries without being obviously intentional about it, and the performance and production are top notch. Really great stuff! |

![]() This is so insane!! I love it! You know what would be a trip? You could so work the words to White Riot in there and it would work. Then it would be a Clash tune on drugs. Well ok, so the first Clash album was exactly that. haha this is madness!! but I really dig it! |

| LMAO! I love that Ravens mentioned Large Marge! This track is amazing. I need to learn your harp skills man. I think I hear a tiny bit of similarity between the vocals here and Bon Scott, and THAT is AWESOME! This track really is amazing all around. Really awesome collab guys! | |
| Pandora's Box by pharmakeus | 3 years ago |
| I have to agree with chinaman here- this has a really awesome bluesy sound but with dub style accents that really make it so unique and distinct. Not surprisingly at all, the production is absolutely fantastic. This is a killer track. | |
| Fire Tower ( rough) by Rusticalia | 3 years ago |
| I definitely dig where this is going. Don't you hate the hiss? I had the WORST problem with it when recording acoustic guitar parts, which led to direct-lining my ovation, but mic'd acoustic sounds better (IMO). I really like the cello part- where it is in the mix is very good too- it isn't overpowering but doesn't get lost either. I definitely would love to hear this with a banjo part, a piano bit might sound cool too if that's an option. Anyway, I really like this track and would love to hear the final version! cheers |

![]() I can't even tell you how amazed I am to see that someone did perform a tribute to one of the most important (yet often overlooked) writers of the modern era. This piece absolutely gets the message across that the typewriter is mightier than the machine gun. It is every bit as complex and dynamic as Solzhenitsyn himself. It is so awesome though to see this tribute, especially since he truly is (in my opinion) in the same tradition and greatness as Chekhov and Dostoevsky. Brilliantly done! |
|

| Hey Joe by JasonHughes | 3 years ago |
![]() Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand?? This was a very very good bluesy cover that no doubt Hendrix would have approved of. I'd love to hear some vocals with this, but the guitar playing is awesome! Did you play it on a Strat? It sounds like one to me, but I don't hear any hum. Love the vibrato at the end- I was almost waiting to hear a reprise into Castles Made of Sand. Awesome work man. Simply awesome. |

![]() I know what's going on: awesomeness! This is a really really cool track! I might be a little crazy (well I'm sure I am) but in a musical context here, I think I hear a Clash influence- I'm thinking of The Cool Out. This is definitely a very cool tune though. It feels like you just let it rip and interspersed some really cool sonic elements that really keep the listener's attention, but I'm definitely hearing an influence of The Clash and maybe a bit of a dub influence as well. Really awesome stuff! |

| A Letter 2 HipHop by hiphopmoses | 3 years ago |
| This really was brilliant in so many ways. The lyrics, the delivery, the message, and the fantastic arrangement behind them. This to me was not just a letter to Hiphop but a vindication of it in its truest sense. So many people malign hiphop and often without understanding the real nature of it. All too often, I feel that this is because of corporate produced acts that perpetuate a stereotype that is designed to keep mainstream culture isolated from a message that they need to hear. It's not about being divisive and it certainly is not about the acquisition of material goods or status; it's about self-emancipation and empowerment and above all like 8mm said- standing side by side and fighting the good fight. Like the Honourable Robert Nesta Marley said: one love. |

![]() This is crazy... crazy AWESOME! you could take this in so many different directions if you wanted to. It's a fantastic instrumental on its own. I'm probably going to get my guitar-player union card revoked for saying this, but I actually would not add a lead guitar to this. This would sound amazing if you had someone with a British accent sing over it. Like on the idea of Pop Will Eat Itself, but more upbeat and fun. Not sure why I think that, but I can just hear it and it sounds awesome. This has so much potential! Please keep me posted on what you end up doing with it. peace rr |

![]() Very heavy groove and the vocal are awesome. It's also really neat to watch Vegetal's icon while the track plays because it works together. The production here is really compelling. Awesome work all around. If you wanted to make a super freak-out track, the ol' wall o'distorted guitar would add a cool effect at parts, but that's just one person's opinion- overall, this definitely stands on its own and was definitely a great effort. |

![]() This is a beautiful track. I enjoyed the fluidity of your playing and the expressiveness of it. I really dug your vibrato use about 3/4 of the way through it. This reminds me of David Gilmour's style just a bit, but for some reason, I'm thinking on a semi-hollow body rather than a strat. Am I close? Either way, this is gorgeous work! Thanks for sharing! |

![]() It's so sad how there IS a common ethic to the monotheistic faiths of the world, and how they all speak to the will of God as being one in which no one goes without and that all men and women are brothers and sisters in His creation, and yet for reasons that I can only call diabolical, the message of the Prophets has been distorted and twisted so that the religion of the world has been one that worships profits and forgets the words of the Divine as spoken through the Prophets. People probably aren't ready to hear it, but that means they need to hear it more than ever. Much respect for speaking the truth on this. The world is literally falling apart and all they care about is gettin' their hands on that green. But like the Prophet Isa (pbuh) said: man cannot serve two masters. He will love one and despise the other. Asalaamu'alaikum |

![]() I can't possibly give enough respect to the production skills that you have going on here. I mean DAMN! This is SICK! The funky horn breakdown just had me smiling. The elements I hear in the delivery of the vocals is like the attitude of Immortal Technique but the nimble delivery makes me think of Eyedea. This is really off the hook though. There's rappers out there that WISH they had skills like this. From what I've heard so far, there's definitely sick production skills, intelligence, and very smooth and nimble lyrical delivery. Definitely an awesome track! |

hahaha no doubt! Definitely need to be sure I'm rockin the drawers when I play, but on the same hand, it eliminates the worry of scuffs on the back of the instrument from a belt buckle, button, etc... ![]() you guys rock! Thanks for listening!! |

hahah you rock man! it's funny, I actually was most concerned I'd hack the song because I knew at least one other person here would totally know it! ANyway, thanks very much man! It really means a ton to hear that. ![]() And yeah, losing Kirsty MacColl is absolutely tragic. Hearing her sing opposite Shane MacGowan in Fairytale of NY was absolutely amazing, and hers is a talent that will be sorely missed. |

| RIGHT ON MAN!! That was an awesome track!! You guys did a phenomenal job! That's my fav. Clash tune for sure. I'm thinking of getting bands together to do a comp that's all Clash songs. Anyone down?? No doubt about it though! We definitely could use Joe Strummer like a ton right now! Thanks for checking it out and for the link to your cover - It really was an awesome version. Do you do pressure drop by any chance?? ![]() |

![]() rough or not man, it's AWESOME! I love how you guys can play with sound the way you do. This is definitely avant goodness, and most importantly, you guys have shown that you can take what you do and do it live, and that really blew me away to see. This is not only great from a sound perspective, but it is absolutely killer to see it pulled off like you guys did. Fantastic work! rob |

| Poverty by Rodamental | 3 years ago |
![]() I agree with Moses completely- this is knowledge that NEEDS to be heard now more than ever for two reasons: 1. you're absolutely on point with the message. 2. hip hop absolutely does have a message that needs to be heard now more than ever. The production on this is fantastic and the lyrical structure is phenomenal. It reminded me a little bit of Immortal Technique in the message and the delivery. It's a messed up world and it seems complicated, but this really cuts through the smoke and nails the problem: poverty. Thanks for sharing. |
