Biography
Winds and moons come and ago, tides rush and leave… and so does Time, leaving but dust and buried sands blurred behind. Fragments and scattered remains of a past unseen, unfathomable. Stains of darkly red spread through Earth as bruises floating the Cosmic weaving, damaged minds and consequences to dread, ever increasing…
Melomane-minds, musical fiends and casual pricks Alex S & Bruno A (both guitarists/ composers) have been bonded by friendship since high-school days, where they met by collapsing Maiden songs on borrowed acoustics. At the time-being the duo incidentally gathered for 3 days to forge an original and a pair of covers to perform at a school contest with some shadowy bass-player, Alex on the stool and Bruno soloing the vocals mitigating the detail that no living thing held the mic. Not even bothering to invent the queried name but an embryo was irremediably sown!
Years later and following sparse jamming, Alex had gone through an early band (VYRUZ, with 2 CD-demos recorded and live gigs to their credit) while Bruno later created the reputed ARCANE WISDOM act. Alex was chosen to be 2nd axeman for AW when rehearsals were arranged with live-aim (never to happen). Editing a long tale short, in the wake of exhausted years of common-yet-sparse will to conjure a stone-strong, unique project together, '04 turned out the key year to engage in the mission. Laying aside half a dozen acoustic arias, the duo began taping new material on Alex's Mac. Several tracks were assembled, Bruno having exorcised random lyrics/ thoughts to suit them. REDSTAINS revealed the chosen moniker, imagetically reflecting the act's predominantly modern and insightful cutting-edge, but also its dramatic scope and concept.
Bassist/ backing vox AD (ex-Divine Lust, Attick Demons) stepped in, followed by vocalist Dinho (Re-set) and skinsman João S. The abrasively energetic and intensely heartfelt REDSTAINS experience is adding a fresh, catchy breath to our musical landscape, while still conveying the shiny and soulful heritage of days bygone. Blank minds, formatted hearts, souls for rent. Manic depression/ maniac possession?
