A truly beautiful song throughout it's entirety.

I really love this track- and I was halfway through before I read the description.

I feel very RichardRinger when I do music too.

Interesting note to the listener:

Ponkey says:

"Earth Splits Open
What's that?
Birds come flying out"

I say:

"The Earth opened up it's mouth,
And we came out"

Very interesting messages in this song... that's what I love about art- music in general, it can intersect and sometimes separate artists can drift around similar styles and then just naturally center around the same strong statement. Beautiful how it works really.

Love it, fly high as always.

This wasn't what I was expecting when I clicked on it and it said the genre was "dance"... boy was I surprised (completely pleasantly).

I love this genre... and I love that people are still making it...

Thanks for this man.

IN THE HOUR OF NOTHING by Barretok 3 years ago
Barre, yours is an acquired taste... one which I have acquired over a couple years... and am better for it. You always take the listener to that dank little seedy underworld... once you learn to appreciate the cracks in the ceiling as masterpieces all unto themselves... you get it.
A Whole New Mind by Storkaas 3 years ago
Usually tracks done digitally don't strike a certain chord with me so to speak... but this was different... just the right amount of mood I guess...
HD: Hard Boiled Jane by ponkey 3 years ago
I love that carnivalesque intro...and then throughout. Very upbeat... and yes that outro guitar is great... partner that with the vocals (I do dig the vocals)... well I guess the whole package is quite attractive really, not sure why I had to mention each aspect individually... very well done.
final frontier by birdsonic 3 years ago
Sounds like someone gave you some good advice. It seems like pain doesn't ever really go away... it just sort of fades a bit, but that doesn't mean there wont be a scar... but when you turn it into a song... that song can always be played, and just as loud as it needs to be.
Having Seen by longinous 3 years ago
haha quite alright champ! I like the way the guitar in this one kind of dances around all drunk but in control. True lyrics. Nice stuff man, I miss hanging out.

There I Am (part one) by RichardRinger 3 years ago
My new Keyboard has a note bender, so I was getting some use out of that for the droning sound. As for the "harmonica", that was a key run through two filters recorded live through "seagulls" in my ten track.

The End of Sickness and Death by Justin_Case 3 years ago
Love that cough halfway in- you know the one- I get you SICK=COUGH gone in a gong totally gone.

"Men have called me mad; but the question is not yet settled, whether madness is or is not the loftiest intelligence -- whether much that is glorious -- whether all that is profound -- does not spring from disease of thought -- from moods of mind exalted at the expense of the general intellect" <------Edgar Allan Poe

I through that in because this sir is very mad, maybe a bit to the abrasive side but is the disease of thought something that would be cured and then in a perfect world where all good souls ARE-- would it exist? Intersquimishly existent perhaps? hahahahaHAHA I dont know now I'm just playing clown words- but yes I want to hear number two when it's done- for sure fun

wow...how wonderfully strange. Felt like it should be played in some weird out there indie film...most likely right after some college student has fallen out the window and everyones looking down at him, and then students just walking around campus....anyway thats the little film that played through my head. I liked.

The only part I don't like is that the volume maxes out occasionally, but trust me mine does that a lot to. I really liked the whole feel of this. The background yelling, and the guitar effects especially, good one!

Ah, the man who produces more music than God. Strong base track. Reminds me of a NIN song that was used on "Man of Fire", a fine movie. So instantly when I heard this song I wanted to be buying guns, like in the scene of the movie, was that what you intended? Enjoyed it Lap, keep on keeping on.

At War's End by Balok 4 years ago
Post-apocliptic is always a good vice for scenery. Yes I can see the scene, quite bleak, one of my favorite lines from a song says "Was it worth all that war just to win?" This piece says that with instruments, very well done.

I like the tame of the vocals, and the clang of dishes in the back, was that intentional, or was Lee Ann being inconsiderate? haha. I also like it where it picks up there in the middle. Very well done.

...and then there was merchandising (Oxjam) by ponkey 4 years ago
How in the world do you make me want to laugh in the beginning and middle, and then feel so incredibly sad at the ending? What is that?! I'll tell you what it is. It's good stuff.
Let It Float by the_goat 4 years ago
5

This is a very good listen, it gives me an "end of the movie" feeling, which I naturally associate with a "beginning of the album" placement. I think this would make a great opening for the Oxjam record, kind of like the intro song.
Leviathan by Rusticalia 4 years ago

Yes I can clearly see the Sufjan reference. Similar picking, similar lyric content. Now all you need is a choir of soft singing females saying "Leviathan" over and over again...very good song. Glad we had a chat so I could discover and enjoy your music.

I was waiting for the umbadaheys unbadahos...and they didn't come. I really like what you do with your vocals here. I listened to an album a while back, by one of my favorite artists. They had just been signed to a major record label recently and this was there first out on it. I was tortured when I listened to this CD, because even though it was..."Good" I knew the artist, so I knew they were holding back in the vocals. They were tamed. Thats what I like about your vocals. I never feel like you hold back. Stay untamed.

wow is this good! I especially am into the bass, it really seems to stand out to me. about halfway through though, I got a splinter stuck in my eye, so I was concentrating on that for about a minute, but the music was still there, and somehow... it fit.
A Theory of Distraction by Justin_Case 4 years ago
I do enjoy it when the choir enters, and the bells start to speed up. I could differently see this put to the ballet dancer. It must have been some experience to see your art flow with another's. I really like the slow ending with the keys and the creeping of that string, she must have been out of breath by then!

There are those clean little shiny voices that make it to the final five in American idol and shows like the such, voices I like to call: boring. And THEN there are voices like this, you know the kind you can't wait to hear again in a new song, that form a character like Neal Young, Colin Meloy, Damon Albarn, Ponkey, and artists of the such. To top off this amazing little voice you have, you go ahead and put it behind some mellow acoustic and keys, which I'm of course, in the mood for. Sorry, at this point I'm rambling, But I'm just so glad I found this.
