| I gave this one a good few couple of listens - it's good to see that you've resolves whatever mic issues you had in the past regarding vocal recording! Also, I think I actually kindof dig the intro. The keys are a little low, but I like the effect, and after about a minute they came in stronger and balanced out anyways. I really enjoyed this one! | WAIT WHAT? IT'S OVER? BUT WHY?!?! *CRIES* I LOVED THE ARRANGEMENT TO PIECES. TO ABSOLUTE PIECES! The guitar entrance gave me CHILLS. I really like your voice too, I thought it was a great performance! I think I might actually be able to be helpful for once. Once the guitars picked up, this was completely unnoticeable, but since the beginning was so delicate and quite, you can sortof hear the background noise, which made it really clear when you started the vocal recording and where you cut out the silent parts (like between 'eye' and 'a dream'?). That's cool, except that the cutoff in noise created something of an inconsistency (...I've got in at least two of my tracks too so...yeah XD). What you could do is either 1) don't cut out the noise, or make sure to record enough 'silence' to fill the gaps - you might be able to hear it through the whole thing, but at least it'll be consistent 2) record yourself closer to the mic and crank the sensitivity down to try to minimize the noise picked up (sometimes it works, sometimes it's just bad...) 3) play around with the EQ. And make sure to keep and ear out for the noise if you decide boost the upper end 4) (LOL will I ever shut up?)You could try a noise removal 'thing'. I know GB has one, so I assume Logic should as well, but I'm not very happy with that - it makes everything sound tinny. Audacity has one that works a bit better. It's open source, so it might be worth giving a try. 5) (last one, I SWEAR) If you can't fix the noise thing and still want to cut it, try fading in (or out) so that the entrances (or exits) sound smoother. Okay, I'm done. I promise. I hope that was at least remotely helpful or coherent XD |

| I think the 'other' category works. 'Other' is cool. I think I actually really like this one - are you planning on using it for something else, or letting it stand alone as it is? It might sound cool in a bigger work too, ne? Okay, so what I loved: your playing was awesome. You didn't miss a beat, and at times I had a hard time believing that that was just one instrument there! I think the whole piece had a nice, cheerful, laid back vibe that I really dig. What I didn't like quite as much: I think it sounds a little bassy. You probably want to take that with a grain of salt though, because I have zero experience with guitars. There's also this weird quality that I can't quite put my finger on, and I actually kindof like. Actually, I know what it sounds like, but I can't really wrap my brain around the concept since the guitar doesn't have a damper pedal like the piano does. It sounded as if the theoretical damper pedal was down the whole time (...am I making any sense at all? . At first I thought it made some things sound blurry, but after a few listens I decided that I kindof like it |
