Biography
Greetings. My name is George R. Powell, although I've been known for the past 10 years according to my online alias Setu Firestorm.
A piano student since age 4 and composer since age 15, I've been a creative musical person practically my whole life. When I started composing back in my teenage years, I mostly did piano ballads, and after a few years I discovered the world of MIDI, where I composed for various independently-made game projects I made myself.
It wasn't until 2000 that I began scoring other people's homemade video games and, from there, moved up into scoring short films made by other kids and aspiring filmmakers.
In 2007, I landed my first feature-length independent film "The Hero of Time" by BMB Finishes, which made my exposure grow almost exponentially, as the film had a large following.
Right now, I am keeping myself open as a composer while writing screenplays for my own film projects that I intend to do years down the road.

While my forte is in film-score orchestral music, I have over 6 alternative rock EPs that I have made myself within a digital environment, and I have dabbled a bit in jazz and different techno genres.
I am always open to try something I've never done before.
My #1 rule in composing is that I do NOT use loops in anything. I make all riffs myself, which include guitar parts and drum parts. The only time I make an exception to that rule is when I'm doing techno, in which case, I make my own loops.
