| Voice Over Rant by Geechi3 | 9 days ago |
| Hi Linda One of the things I've learned over the years is that adversity breeds some great song material. Great love songs come from broken hearts, Great protest songs come from social upheaval and social strife. So consider what you're going through right now as training for the big time. lolHere's something I did that may give you some food for thought on a possible direction to go in on voice-overs. It's a 5 minute radio play I put together from sound bites and voice overs I did for Halloween. It's supposed to be spooky/funny/scary/irreverent, but it's mostly just for fun. http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=98740 Have a listen and enjoy, it might at the very least give you a laugh, and at worst tick you off a little. Good luck to you on what you're trying to do, I wish you much success. I also wish you a wonderful, happy, and very prosperous New Year my friend. be well and be cool. Ed |

| Bar Stool Lament by tireiron | 1 month ago |
![]() Cool song tire, with some very unique sounds going on in it. Never heard a Strat sound quite like that, but it sounds good. Your right, it ought to be a sin, but it's not, and I'm thankful that it isn't or I'd be in a world of hurt, and so would you. But they haven't made making fine music like this a sin yet, so we're safe for now. Nice original tune with your own original sound, I like it a lot my friend. Be well and be cool Ed |

| I went and listened to Bing's mix and the changes he made are subtle but effective in smoothing out the feel of the song. You did a good job on the vocals here Cees but the addition of that little touch of reverb smoothed it out and made it sound even better. Be well my friend and be cool, Ed |

![]() I've listened to both and this is definitely a better mix. The change is subtle but it really made a difference in the character of the song. I like the redone guitar parts as well. Nice job on the remix Bing, and a nice job on smoothing out Cees vocal with a touch of reverb. It wasn't a bad vocal to begin with, but it's even better now. Be well and be cool, Ed |

| I keep waiting for it to break out, but it hasn't yet. Ah there it goes, about 2/3 of the way through. What a wonderfully rich sound you brought in just then. It's very easy to relax and just let this take you to places in your mind you haven't visited in a while. Very well put together Dave and very good, I would think the "Other" classification is correct, but it might also fit under something I'd tend to call "Neo Classical" Excellent work my friend. Ed |

Great job Chris, this is just what I needed for some quiet meditation. Fantastic track. I love it. Ed |

| Great track Dave. Love the whole darn thing. It's smooth and funky and moves along. I found my self bobbing my head and tapping my foot from the first 4 bars. This is a great Jazz/Funk piece my friend, and it even has "CHORD CHANGES". Speaking of chord changes, I heard a story one time where a bass player just kept playing the same single note on every song. just that one note all the way through. Finally the Guitar player asked him why he never played any other notes. The bass player said, "All those guys running up and down the neck all the time are just lookin' for it, but I found it. | County Line Drive w/ Steel by fatchance | 3 months ago |
| Oh YEAH man, what a difference. That steel takes this to a while different level. Where the first track was a great listen, there was something missing. I now know what that something is. It's Mr.Steel: J. Forney's beautiful addition in the form of Soul. I have to agree with Argales statement about it sounding very sad, but I think it's because the Steel does such a wonderful job of crying. Final thought's, this is much better than the original because of the Steel part. The new mix is also a little gentler. It's like you pulled the rest back a little to make the Steel take it's more prominent place in the mix, as it should be. This is a very beautiful piece Geo, even better that the first one by a magnitude or two. Thanks for sending me to these, their both great. Be well and be cool, Ed |

| The King by Sloparts | 4 months ago |
| Thanks Jeannette, Glad you liked my little fantasy in music. As was pointed out to me, the picture is of King Arthur, but most of the instrumentation is a lot more modern than that, from the 1700 and 1800. But I don't think it matter because it's not really a period piece done on period instruments. It's just a picture painted in music that portrays what it might be like to live in a village in Medieval England and to get to see "the King". I hadn't though about the reference to Elvis before. If they just went straight to the music without looking at the picture or reading the text, I'm sure they would be very surprised. Truth be known, I've never seen Elvis in person either, so if he came through my little village, first off I'd be very surprised, (and afraid), and I'm sure this would be an appropriate piece of music to go along with that. lol Thanks for checking out the piece Jeannette, and for the kind words about it. I really do appreciate you dropping in for a visit. Be well and be cool my friend, Ed |

| It's back to the basics for you. What else could you do with all the commotion going on around you my friend. Great track with good vocals and backtracks. My only suggestion would be on the rhythm guitar sound. I'm listening to it on a really good set of computer speakers right now, and it sounds very thin on that guitar. It may have been your intention, or it could be it doesn't sound right because of the speakers, but it sounds way too thin to me. Just a thought' Still Cees, it's a great song in all respects my friend, thanks for sharing it. Be well and be cool, Ed |

| I've listened to big93to98's original version before I listened to this one and I like them both. His version has more drive and energy to it, but yours has a much cooler feel to it. That's what you get when you have 2 really great artist who put their own personal touch to the same song. Both are great, and both are personal. My preference is to lean more towards your Country-Blues take on the song, but then I've always been a sucker for the bluesy approach in a song. Great track, excellent instrumentation and production, and a very cool mix. Kudos Dylan Ed |

| Great funking tune Cees Love the bass line in particular, and the call/response between the vocal and guitar, very cool. Oh yeay, and the poem/lyrics are very well done. The way you fit the music to the poem is excellent. Just shows what a great musician/song writer you really are Cees. Very cool track, Kudos to you and to Ellobo122 for a fantastic track my friend. | Very nice piece Mori. I hear a hint of Moonlight Sonata in here in some of the changes, but only an occasional chord here and there. this has that same kind of melancholy feel to it as well. Beautifully played my friend and well recorded. Kudos Ed |

![]() Very well played and arranged, glad I stopped to listen. This is a nice Jazz piece that kind of soothes the early morning coffee and give me a reason to go work on my own music. Very well done my friend, I especially like the interplay going on between the piano and bass. I would have used a bass with a little more bottom end to it, but that just personal taste there. Great work, Kudos Ed |

I've always loved this kind of stuff, but never had the chance to play it. Great job, all of you, great mix Geo, and Kudos to all of you for the effort, it paid of in spades. Ed |

| Very cool song Cees Great rhythm track, love the bass line and drums, and the guitars are right where they need to be in the mix. The break is just excellent as well. Man you do this stuff soooo well. The lyrics are different, but way cool and as always, your vocal is great. Neat little tune here my friend, thanks for sharing it. I can't think of anything I would change on it, it sounds too good as it is to make any changes. Be well and be cool, Ed |

| These are some great lyrics 8Month wrote, Cees and your delivery is excellent. The musical background works well and Bing's guitar parts though sparse, fit in perfectly. Over all and excellent collab My only suggestions would be to shorten the song slightly maybe by cutting out some of the repetition in the verses where you can get away with it, and it doesn't take anything away from the feel and mood of the song. And man does this thing ever have feeling and mood to it. The other thought I had was to put a little more dynamics into the piano part. It might just be my ears, but the piano sounded like it was all the same level, and in some places seemed to overpower the vocal track. You have a great start here Cees that just needs a little bit of TLC to polish it into the gem it was made to be. Thanks for sharing this one my friend. it's going on my iPod asap. Ed |

| Thank you John for both your comments and for coming over for a listen. I'm really glad you liked the song, and the new mix on it. You hit on exactly what I was trying to do with this mix. I wanted it to have depth and an in your face kind of Bluegrass/ Country sound to it. I guess it worked. Thanks again for the visit my friend, it means a lot to this old man. Take care and always Be cool John, Ed |

| Thanks Chris This is the way the song needed to be presented all along, but in 1991 when I did the first recording of it. I was just starting to get some inkling about how to do this stuff. The original version, on my artist page was just that old recording with some EQ'ing done to it and not much else. This one still uses the original for the vocal and main guitar part, but all the other parts have been redone, and I added a few more things to the mix to tilt it over a little to the Bluegrass side of Country. Thanks for the great comments on the song, the mix, and the vocal Chris, I really appreciate you stopping in to listen. Take care, stay well and above all, Be Cool, Ed |

| Thanks Miguel I really wanted this to have the drive and energy the song had been lacking up until this new master. I think finally it does. I also wanted to get a more Country Wester feel into it with a little Bluegrass thrown in because of the lyrics and the story they tell. Thanks so much for listening to it my friend. Always nice to see you posting on one of my songs. Take care, stay well, and be cool Miguel, Ed |

![]() Let the fun begin. Got me out of my seat and ready for the dance man. Absolutely fabulous Dave. The sounds are real, the playing is awesome and the production is to die for. Sounds like an old barn dance kicked into high gear with some fine fine pickers doing their thing and loving it. I do agree with feenixx that it needs to have a proper ending to it, but that doesn't take anything away from what you've done, it would just put the icing on the cake. Great piece of work my friend of which you can be very proud. Thanks for putting this one up, it's fantastic. Ed |

| Wow KC Outstanding groove, great lyrics, some fine guitar playing and awesome vocals. It doesn't get any better than this my friend. What a terrific song you've got here. Love the keyboard accents and jabs placed in the mix. Speaking of mixes, this one it spot on KC. Man I wish I could do the stuff you guys do on a regular basis. Kudos, Bravo, and any other superlatives I can think of on this one. You guys are Aces. Ed p.s. I see mentions of Steely Dan, and those are right on, but I also hear a little bit of Atlanta Rhythm Section in here to. Specifically thinking of "So In To You" except this is better. Ed |

| Nice track Chris, I hear the 80's retro thing as well, but I also hear a 21st century complexity that give this a somewhat futuristic vibe. At first I wasn't sure what I was listening to, but the farther along it got the more I liked it. Nice piece of work my friend with very cool sound, well arranged. thanks for sharing, Ed |
