The Songcraft Songwriting Circle was started by Jeremy, a regular Singaporean guy in his late-20’s who is deeply passionate about music.
Jeremy has always been fascinated by the art of songwriting, and has written a grand total of two proper songs in his life - one, a collaboration as a wedding gift for a dear friend, and the other he can’t really remember by now.
However, the relative lack of creative output has never deterred him from his fascination and passion for the art.
His favourite composers/songwriters include Paul McCartney, John Rutter, Paul Simon, Alan Menken, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Diane Warren, Bono, Frederic Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Franz Schubert.
It was after being inspired by watching the movie Music & Lyrics in March 2007 starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore that he decided to really do something for songwriting enthusiasts in Singapore, by starting the Songcraft Songwriting Circle as an informal means for Singapore songwriters to be able to share their works with others.
So instead of writing songs and singing it only to your bedroom mirrors, the Songcraft circle would allow like-minded friends to be able to listen to and appreciate your works.
