Biography
Hi I'm Tony my friends call me TG.
I was born in Brooklyn NY. Grow up in Connecticut
I'm as old as Water with the sweetness of a good wine.
After spending most of my youth Backstage at the Apollo Theatre with my Father he sang with the original group "The Drifters" for you youngsters out
there, ask your Parents about (Up on the Roof), (Spanish Harlem) and (Save the last dance for Me) to name a few. They made Love an danced to these songs
before many of you were Born.
For me... I never really put the dots together, till after I did two tours in Vietnam, Mentally bruised and physically drenched in Agent Orange.
I needed something to keep me grounded, so I fell back on my Roots...(MUSIC).
From the age of 12 I played Drums, grooving on the drummers from the Apollo. I dove back into the Sea of Rhythms and still swim there to this day.
After being home for a year or two I got an opportunity to play with the
(Parliament) Funkadelic that is did a few tours with George and the boys and girls, a couple of album later when the Politics was getting out of hand in the
U.S. And they were killing us cause "We had a Dream" I chose to move to Montreal Canada. Where the Music scene was Popin everybody that was anybody in the Music World started their tours, in Montreal or ended it there
and I mean everybody.
That's when I really got my grove on.
I went to Mc Gill University to study Jazz Percussion, I started playing Guitar as well It's funny cause this little Honey showed me the first 3 cords I ever knew
and I've been running with it ever scene.
At Mc Gill I became friends with Jerry Mercer the Drummer for (April Wine) I worked with them for about 7 yrs. My rep ran faster then I could my Grove ability, gave me a chance to work with (Mahogany Rush) Franky Cool Dude,
Michael Pagliaro, Patsy Gallant, Just to name a few. I worked in some of the best recording studios in the World... Life was good then and Music was Music.
In my down time I trained as a Heavy Equipment operator I was good at it.
I help build 4 different Highways and a power dame in James Bay Que.
Then agent Orange jumped back up and kicked me in throat, now all I can do
is let you hear the MUSIC I wanted to sing, maybe someone else will one day...
This is who I am and who I've become
